We were both in dire need of a vacation to just unwind, de-stress, and forget about everything at home, and Elizabeth Pointe certainly fit the bill. Our oceanfront queen room on the corner of the building was perfect - opened up all of the windows, and the cool breeze blowing through made for perfect napping conditions. Giant tub with shower in the bathroom, which was generously sized compared to most chain hotels. Small flat-screen TV but it had "real" cable TV with a lot of channels.

Breakfast was excellent. Big buffet full of varying options daily, including English sausages, crispy applewood smoked bacon, homemade pancakes, several different preparations of eggs, grits, oatmeal, several different juices, cereals, coffee, fresh fruits, and more. If you leave out hungry, it's your own fault, and it's all cooked with ovens, stoves, frying pans, and such - as it should be, not with a microwave.

The rocking chairs on the porch are perfect for watching a storm roll past. Beach chairs and umbrellas are provided so it was nice having that stuff be someone else's problem, not mine.

You do indeed get what you pay for, and between the location and service, it was absolutely worth it.

Oh, they have metal keys for your room, not plastic cards. Don't think I'd ever stayed somewhere with metal room keys.

Room Tip: Room 10 is on the corner of the 3rd floor, you have windows on two sides so you can get a good breez...

Beautifully appointed and comfortable with wonderful service that goes above and beyond. Want cheesecake brought to your room at 2am? They'll do it. This level of service is typically unheard of in small to medium size inns, but Elizabeth Pointe delivers. It has an older feel to the architecture (not sure of its exact age) but it is very modern and nothing is falling apart. Our room was very comfortable. Tremendous breakfast bar that changes each morning. Upon arrival, ask for the turtle nest excavation schedule (May to October). Once a turtle nest hatches, volunteers excavate the unhatched shells and you may even get to see some live ones that didn't make it out. We saw two.

Room Tip: I didn't think I'd miss seeing the beach but I did. We had a sunset room which is a view of...

We stayed at Elizabeth Pointe Lodge In August. There was a full moon and sea turtles were hatching. Our room was gorgeous! The breakfast buffet is huge and the breakfast room overlooks the beach. There are chairs and umbrellas on the beach just for Elizabeth Pointe guests and the beach is beautiful. Elisa was an exceptional help, suggesting restaurants and activities and totally making us feel at home and informed. We had an amazing vacation and cannot wait to return.

Found this lovely Inn on Pinterest, researched and booked! The Inn is mid sized and right on the Ocean. Our room was well appointed, just the right size. The staff is welcoming and friendly without being overbearing, but will tend to your every need is you ask. Downtown Is approx. 2miles from the Inn and has an abundance of places to dine, coffee houses, ice cream parlors and shopping.

Dont get me wrong when I say "grandma" I mean we left the lodge with a very special feeling and hated to leave. This place is first class all the way. Lodge is located directly on the beach. Breakfast is served over looking the beach too. We got lucky and were able to get off season prices as the kids just went back to school. The best thing about this Lodge is the people and the way they make you feel at home. Shirley and Elisa were especially great!!! We are going back as soon as possible.

Room Tip: Rooms on the east side are right on the beach. Some are corner rooms

EPL certainly came as advertised. The breakfasts were great and unhurried, the social hour was fab (met some great folks), and the staff was informative and friendly. Our oceanfront room looked out over the sea oats covered dune and right on to a lovely beach. There was a turtle nest right in front of the hotel, but unfortunately they did not hatch whilst we were there. This was a much better stay than in some large chain hotel. The owners were present and were very attentive and cordial. We will go there again; I envision sipping coffee on the large ocean front veranda on a windy, chilly winter day.
