“FANTASTICO”
Reviewed April 1, 2010

I can understand all the reasons why this is the top rated restaurant in Nassau County. Not in the mood for Ciao's great pasta, I was adventurous and ordered the special of the day: stuffed pork chop. OMG - I never ate a more delicious entree. The owner Luca made sure we were having a great meal and a wonderful time. Our busboy was his handsome and polite son, Brandon. Our cashier was the Beautiful Miss Kim (as called by Luca) who happens to be Luca's wife. Our party was made to feel like we were the owner's family personal guests.

“Wow - as good as it gets for casual Italian”
Reviewed March 31, 2010

We came here because of the prior reviews, and were definitely steered to the right place.

I had the Chicken Ciao, and the red wine sauce was spectacular. We all fought to sop it up with the fresh homemade bread!

Even the simplest dish of our party, a whole wheat pasta dish with a simple butter-based sauce, was really well done.

The owner was fun, and the wait staff very professional and warm.

All hail the wisdom of the crowd - this place is a winner!

“Good Italian”
Reviewed March 20, 2010

The great italian eateries of New York, Chicago, Boston and San Francisco will not have to worry about getting one opted by this restaurant. With that said this a very nice italian restaurant for northern Flordia.

Perhaps the best thing here is the service that starts with a very attentive owner. We had a 7:30 reservation and when we arrived at this rather small establishment we were told it would be awhile. Waiting for a reservation is not my favorite activity but sometimes is does happen. The owner offered his apoligies many times in our 15 minute wait and seemed to be doing his best to get our table turned and ready. The wait staff was also very knowledgeable and attentive.

The chicken & sausage dish I ordered was flavorful and a nice portion. The sausage in the dish was very bland and lacked the proper spices of great italian sausage. The side pasta was a bit dry but had a flavorful tomato sauce. The bread was warm and satisfying and the salad was very good. This was a good meal but by far not a great one. I would definitely go back and try another entree and maybe be a bit more impressed.

This is a warm, friendly bistro that should be visited if you are in the Amelia Island area.

“A complete dining pleasure!”
Reviewed March 10, 2010

From the moment you step foot in Ciao Bistro, you get the feeling you're dining in someone's home. The owner (Luca) greets every customer that enters the door with a big smile and genuine warmth. The wait staff is friendly and attentive, while the atmosphere is cozy and comfortable. Portions are VERY generous, the sauces are as good as ANY I've had in NY, and the complimentary Lambrusco is a classy touch to a relaxing & wonderful dining experience.....save room for the Tiramisu (the best I've EVER tasted!).
