Description: Amelia Island's only TRUE restaurant that is located directly on the beach and has oceanfront dining where you can put your toes in the sand. There is a large covered patio right on the the beach, tables in the sand, and the Ocean Oasis Beach Bar that has the only unobstructed view of the beach and ocean on the island. There is live entertainment on the patio almost every night, featuring everything from Reggae to original music by some of the best local artists in town.

Nice place with excellent entertainment. Beachfront outdoor dining with better than average bar food. Walking distance to hotels and waterfront munincipal park.

My wife and I have been here, probably 100 times. Sometimes, we just have a drink on the deck. Oh the deck! It's an open air, but covered area that's right on the beach. You can watch the ocean while sipping on a cold beer or margarita. They serve pretty standard bar food, along with seafood platters that you can have grilled, fried, or broiled.

When they have a band, they'll play in one of two places on the deck, depending on the weather. Yes, the band can be very loud, although we were there when an acoustic duo was playing, and the volume wasn't that high. I think they usually have entertainment on Saturday evenings, although sometimes in the afternoon, too. On Sundays, they've got entertainment probably from early afternoon till about 7 p.m.

The staff is usually very efficient and friendly, although you might have to be a little forgiving, sometimes.

Overall, this place is really cool!

We went here for lunch, around 12:30pm. It was busy, but not packed. No one was sitting inside, but 85% of the outside seats were occupied. We were sat at a table by the door and the waitress came by and said she would be right back, she was just double sat. We waited for 15 minutes as servers passed us by-we made eye contact with all of them. During this time, food for only one table came out. There were several people who had ordered but were still waiting for their food and several more that had not ordered yet. We finally flagged someone down and asked if we could at least get some drinks. She looked around and flagged down the bar tender who asked what we would like. At this point we were so frustrated with the lack of any service what so ever and what appeared to be no food being delivered to tables, we left. There was no way I was willing to wait for another 45 minutes or more for some frozen from the bag and then fried seafood (or what appeared to be that way from the two plates of food that walked by us, but I wouldn't know for sure as we didn't stay to find out).

We arrived and had to chase down a waitress. After ordering we waited over an hour for two sandwiches. The food mediocre at best. What a waste of time. They need more help and a better cook.

If you are looking for a place with loud music, lots of drinks and a snack or two, then I would recommend Sandy Bottoms. We were looking to have a quick fish dinner (Friday in Lent) after a full day of golf school and were not really in the mood for the decibel level of the live band. Food was okay, nothing really to write home about. I might have enjoy this place more in the summer when we could sit outside and view the ocean. I think the emphasis here is on the music and drinks and not on the food. Service was good.
