“Knowledgeable rangers, below average visitor center.”
Reviewed February 13, 2014

The visitor center is located upstairs in a building adjacent to a marina. Downstairs is a shop that sells tours, food and the like. We went in it first, thinking it was the visitor center. Once we realized it was not National Park Service, we looked further and found it upstairs. It is not well marked, and I feel that some people miss it all together after they visit the first floor store. There is a small exhibit, sales of postcards and small items and a couple of rangers to answer questions. I did purchase post cards, and the ranger suggested that I stop and mail them in Everglades City at the post office. I was happy that I did, as the postmistress used a manual stamp from Everglades City to postmark them; good collectible for my grandchildren.

The visitor center does have clean restrooms....always welcome when you a touring all day long!

“Good boat trip”
Reviewed February 11, 2014

We had a great boat trip and it was super to see a Dolphin jumping over the wake of the boat. Very friendly and helpful crew. It was very kind of them to give their jackets to the small girls whose thoughtless parents hadn't brought any even though it was a cold day. A very nice trip. Thanks guys.

“Outpost”
Reviewed February 6, 2014

I love the National Park System and always find their Visitor Centers inviting, educational, and almost lavish oasis. This Visitor Center was certainly not up to the standards I have come to expect; this felt like an outpost in the wilderness, like it was temporary; just the upstairs level of a marina. Not much to it. The one thing it did have though, was knowledgeable rangers, you can always count on that in the NP system.

“Nice trip into the mangroves”
Reviewed February 1, 2014 via mobile

Glad we took the time to to go on the boat ride through the mangroves. Captain Nick gave us our money's worth with a fun ride and lots of info on the ecology and aquatic and bird life of the mangroves. And we even got to see an alligator!

“Boat Ride From Visitors Center”
Reviewed January 29, 2014

We took the big boat ride for a 90 minute tour around the islands. We saw a dolphin and different birds. We wanted to see alligators and got our wish just looking by the canal as we drove along the road back toward Naples. No need to pay at some park to see big gators.
