We chose this one because of the two-way headsets. We could not communicate with the captain or him with us when we were going fast because you simply could not hear, and he did not seem to hear my questions. We could communicate when we slowed right down, or when we stopped and took them off, so I think this part was over rated.
The first 15 minutes were spent in the canal in town where we saw birds that we saw everywhere else in Florida. We then went into the narrow tunnels of the mangroves where all we saw were a few raccoons. Our guide told us we would not see alligators because they did not live in salt water. They only came in during the rainy season which is August according to him. We never did get out of the mangrove tunnels as airboats are not allowed out. This was nothing like I expected.
In hindsight I wish we had gone to the private airboat tours along the highway. They didn't use head sets, but we could have used earplugs, which would likely been just as effective. They also were in a more open area, so I expect we might have seen more.
Last year I went in a fresh water area an hour or so out of Orlando. There we saw dozens of alligators and birds. I would recommend anyone wishing to see alligators by airboat to go in fresh water.
On the plus side, the staff were very informative and friendly.
