“Don't waste your day with "the other guys"”
Reviewed March 27, 2012

We want to highly recommend Captain Steve (and Otis) and thank them for a fantastic day in the Everglades. These friendly guides are true "Gladesmen" and really know so much about the area - its wildlife, plants and landscape. We were thrilled to see deer, snakes, and alligators and were so happy to be given the opportunity to stop and take photos. We were most impressed when our Captain Steve was called to help...a family that booked with "the other guys" was stuck in the mud (literally) - so glad we didn't spend our day that way! We will definitely be booking a tour next year - and, as promised, we will be visiting the giant Cypress tree in the area. Thanks again for a great day and sharing your knowledge with us!

“the best”
Reviewed March 17, 2012

It is rare to find someone who lives and loves what he does.after six generations, Capt.Steve is the man.we had a wonderful experience. Seven of us, family and friends to the four hour tour and loved every moment. Wonderfully informative. Never realized the actual beauty of this area. Capt. Steve's family has been there a couple of hundred years and is truly a 'country boy' with a Harvard education on the everglades. Otis, his swamp buddy guide, who took our friends, was just great.one of the highlights was going to Capt. Steve private camp in the middle of the glades and watching a bard owel
momma taking care of her two babies. Take the tour, it was fantastic.

“Fantastic Adventure”
Reviewed March 13, 2012

Captain Steve is a genuine character; part naturalist, really good wheel man and an
all around great guy. I had found his website on the internet and had spoken to him before booking our recent trip.
Four of our party member had been to the Everglades before and none were interested in the traditional touristy air boat ride. We were a total of five people who love nature and a unique experience. The swamp buggy is not for everyone, but if you think you would enjoy going deep into the Big Cyprus Preserve and seeing the Florida prairie, remnants of the old logging train tracks that once brought out the big cypress trees, bird life, beautiful skies, this is the trip for you.
If you have 5 people you can rent out the entire swamp buggy and customize your own trip. Go For It!

“best Everglades trip out there”
Reviewed March 7, 2012

Captain Steve was truly amazing - a real "gladesman" and such a fine gentleman. His knowledge of the Everglades was more than impressive and his kind, gentle soul made the trip the best Everglades excursion we have ever planned. Any question---- he had the answer, his knowledge of this part of the country was just incredible. The buggy trip was so worth every penny and meeting him and hearing his stories made the day for us. He knows everything about the animals, trees, flowers, grasses, waters that make up this remarkable area and LOVES sharing it with his passengers. Thanks Capt. Steve - four of the best hours we have spent in Florida!

“A very surprising experience. Beautiful scenery- a delight.”
Reviewed February 26, 2012

The landscape was beautiful At times, you felt like you were on African safari- all that was missing were the giraffes and elephants. The cypress trees were bare at this time of year, but they cast a silvery glow over the land. We were fortunate to spot a deer, a streaked head turtle, some herons, and a rare golden fox squirrel. Catptain Steve was an informative guide sharing a lifetime of knowledge. If you go in February, there is not much water so the ride is on a dirt trail. No mosquitoes this time of year. I was talked into going, but am so glad I went!
