“Great views and great wildlife”

We took the 10,000 Islands tour which runs from Everglades City out through the islands almost up to the open sea and then back. The guide was very knowledgeable about the area and the local wildlife and was very personable, providing lots of information as we toured and answering everyone's questions.

As soon as we left the dock, some dolphins appeared right beside the boat and played around us for quite some time. We also saw ospreys, lots of dolphins and a lot of other local birds. It's a very pretty area and is a popular area for kayaking as well.

One tip - even if it's a warm day on land, take a warm top with you as the boat is open at the sides and it gets breezy!

Marty is a knowledgeable captain who knows the Everglades as well as history of Florida. Well worth tajing the mangrove tour.

We usually don't take boat tours, but this one is quite special. We had been out hiking all morning, and wanted to do something not overly strenuous during the heat of the afternoon. We were not disappointed - the staff knows where to find the wildlife, especially the birds, and managed to find several dolphins, who followed the boat for quite a distance. We saw literally hundreds of birds, and the guides had many stories that added a little to the color of the area. Really enjoyed, and highly recommended.

This is the third time we have taken this boat trip and each time
it has been a memorable experience. There were only about 16 people
on the 1pm trip, so we had plenty of room to move around. The narration was informative. We saw many ospreys and their nests, plus, a dolphin, but the highlight was the spit of sand where so many Great white pelicans were resting. The size of the birds was
overwhelming, and there were far more than in previous years. We were able to get quite close for photos.
A really worthwhile trip that we shall do again.

We took the 4:30 cruise on a Saturday in January. We had no reservations, but saw the office when we visited the ranger station in the same building. The boat is a larger one, with two levels and bathrooms on board.
The captain was very pleasant and did all he could to show us as many birds and dolphins as possible. Several times we had dolphins following in our wake and jumping up over and over. Once they sped along under the bow of the boat. It was amazing and the closest we'd ever seen dolphins.
We sat patiently for quite a while as the sun set on a beautiful evening. It was great and all the passengers really appreciated seeing it. The trip through the mangrove islands was fun and very pretty as well. This was a wonderful trip for $30 each.
