We went hear based on the TripAdvisor reviews and were definitely disappointed! Yes, the shrimp was lightly battered, the fries were fine, but there was nothing special about them. The prices are a little high. Stay away from the little beach. The sand may need to be changed. My boys played there for 5 minutes and came back with a horrible stench on their sweatshirt. The service was extremely casual - help yourself to drink cooler and pick up window.

Food is simple but tasty. They have a large covered outside eating area on the Barron River. A great spot for pictures also. Lunch is in the $7 to $11 range.

We drove to Everglades City to enjoy an airboat ride and lunch on the water. We used Trip Advisor to help us choose which local restaurant to eat at (with fresh seafood) and based on the good reviews we chose City Seafood. This is a fish market and restaurant that sells local seafood for whole sale and retail, we were ready to get some great fresh seafood and enjoy the view. The view and atmosphere did not disappoint, it was Florida dining at its best. We ordered the shrimp basket, fish basket (red grouper), soft shell blue crab, and cracked conch. The shrimp was very small, more of a popcorn shrimp and tasted like they had thrown raw shrimp into a fryer. Extremely bland and rubbery. They were the same size as my toddlers little crackers. When you order inside the seafood market there are nice looking pink key west shrimp on display. I can't understand why they wouldn't use the medium/large shrimp and serve them with the shrimp basket. The red grouper was definitely fresh but they lightly floured it, with no seasoning, and it was undercooked. The soft shell blue crab was extremely greasy. The cracked conch appetizer should be called cracked pork chop. It was never tenderized (very thick) and covered in oil. By far the most disappointing of all the food we tried. Soggy and greasy fries were served with the baskets as well. If anyone chooses to visit here after reading this review, I recommend asking for you fried food to be cooked until golden brown. To find the positive in all this...the tarter sauce was excellent and that is what we used to try and choke down the rest.
