Owner description: At Everglades Area Tours, we set ourselves apart from the competition by offering the most intimate and educational tours of Everglades National Park and the surrounding protected areas. All of our guides are formally trained Florida Master Naturalists, Environmental Educators, and Full-Time Outdoor Leaders. You won’t find any intrusive airboats here -- they’re not allowed in Everglades National Park due to the damage they inflict on the ecosystem. Instead, we offer more exclusive guided boat, kayak, and walking tours with the most experienced tour guides in the state. Our most popular eco-tour, the Boat Assisted Kayak ECO Tour, combines the best of a boat tour, a kayak tour and a walking tour into one four hour adventure! Come experience the wildly unpredictable and natural beauty of Everglades National Park with Everglades Area Tours, where adventure awaits at every turn.

“Outstanding Tour”
Reviewed March 8, 2014

From the on-line registration to the final recommendation for lunch, this was a A+++ outfit to work with. The tour gets you in close to lots of things you would miss in a boat simply moving through the 10,000 Islands. The guide (Jeff) was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. He had all the equipment we would have needed, although we did come well-prepared. The canoeing was handled well. We enjoyed getting off the water and onto one of the keys.

“Best Way To See Everglades!!”
Reviewed March 7, 2014

The online reservation was very easy and included a discount. Heather (office person) was excellent to deal with and was very friendly. Jeff was the boat captain and was awesome! He provided tons of local knowledge as well as being very knowledgeable about the wildlife. During the trip we found a pod of 8 dolphins and he went out of his way to make sure we got some great photos of them playing in the boats wake. He pointed out a wide variety of birds and we got to see an osprey protecting their young against a bald eagle. He was willing to make this "our" trip as far as what we wanted to see during the kayaking portion. He was very expedient in getting the kayaks ready and all of us safely into the kayaks. Our 1 hour of kayaking included up close and personal navigation in and thru the mangroves. Jeff made special effort to point out small marine life that you do not normally see without being in a kayak. My only "complaint" was that I wish it lasted longer and yet he allowed us to stay out 30 minutes longer than normal. I wish it could have been an all day trip but it was an amazing afternoon!

“Terrific!”
Reviewed March 6, 2014 via mobile

We took the boat assisted kayak tour with Jeff as our guide and it was a wonderful , experience! I had never kayaked before so was a bit worried but it was so much fun. Jeff is very friendly and knowledgeable and we saw so much of the eco system and how everything ties together. We will definitely take another trip when we visit the Everglades. It's worth it!

“Good Weather-Good Day”
Reviewed March 6, 2014

Ron Wofford was our guide which turned out to be a good way to start. One guide and two tandams. One tandam had an experienced kayaker (ours) and the other tandam had two who had never been in a kayak before coupled with a language barrier. How do you make it work===he did.
The trip it self was beautiful. Later in the afternoon we entered a mangrove tunnel where the water was like a mirror, with sufficient light so that everything was reflected. I have kayaked in many areas on both coasts of the United States and this was a unique experience.
Thank you.

“Grand Heritage Tour was indeed Grand!”
Reviewed March 4, 2014

My very good friend and I booked with Everglades Area Tours in 2013, (after earlier meeting the owner at the South Florida Panther Festival)...but were unable to take a tour till this year. We had the wonderful opportunity to spend approximately two days in this most lovely part of our State. We are both Floridians and love nature, but were literally "blown away" by the Grand Heritage Tour.. a full day on the water in a safe and speedy skiff, plus some kayaking and a walk along a shell strewn beach . Bruce, our guide, was a veritable wealth of knowledge on everything from birds and fish, shells and orchids, to alligators and manatees, and everything in between...with an obvious respect for the environment and its creatures, plus a wonderful sense of humor. Would enthusiastically and wholeheartedly recommend Everglades Tours to anyone who wants to see the real Florida, or just have a delightful day in the Everglades.

Thank you for taking the time to review your experience. The Grand Heritage and Birding Tour is the most extensive single day tour available. We agree it truly is grand.
