Best part of a great trip to Florida. We drove two hours from Deerfield Beach for a boat-assisted kayak tour of the mangroves and it was worth every minute to get there. We have two kids (8 and 10) and they had a great time. They enjoyed the paddling and seeing the sights as well as learning about the area and the animals. The kayak trip was far-and-away better than an air-boat tour we also went on. We could see the birds up fairly close without scaring them away with roaring engines. The highlight of the tour for the kids was a stop at a small sand strip between two mangrove islands. It was great to see so many different shells with animals still inside. Our guide was knowledgeable, good with the kids, and really seemed to care about the everglades. He showed respect for the wildlife in the area and really helped make the trip memorable. Our only complaint was that the four hour trip was too short a time. We definitely could have spent a whole day at least. The kayaking wasn't strenuous so even the kids wanted to keep going.

We did the mangrove kayak trip in the morning, great way to see the gators in their natural habitat and then kayak through the tunnels in the mangroves. The afternoon Captain Jeff took us on the boat assisted kayak tour. His knowledge and passion was awesome. He explained so much and made the trip very enjoyable. We saw osprey, dolphins and other great birds. The kayaking around the mangrove islands and then walking around the island was great to learn so much more Jeff explained about the shell, sea-life and history of the area. If you can just do one trip then do the boat assisted tour with Jeff. Just bring comfortable clothes also kayaking was very easy. A trip you won't forget. Book the afternoon tour if you can then you won't be pressed for time. The are a few great places to eat in the area when you finish your tour too. Just ask Jeff for recommendations.

My wife and I spent 3 hours with Ron on the mangrove tunnel kayak tour and came away impressed with what we saw as well as his knowledge of the local flora and fauna. Although it's December we saw quite a few different species of birds as well as at least a dozen alligators and some turtles. Ron took the time to make sure we weren't rushing and tried to give us as much info at each opportunity as he could. All in all a great time and well worth the money.

My wife and I had a great 3.5 hr trip combination boat and kayak trip into the everglades. Jeff was a very enthusiastic, knowledgable guide. For a group with limited time this is a wonderful outing - boat, kayak around mangrove islands and walk on a beach . We saw osprey, manatee, eagle, dolphins, roseate spoonbills , white pelicans - to name a few of the highlights. We would go back, stay longer and ask for Jeff.

In first week of December me, my wife and our friends did a 1.30PM Marco Island Dolphin & Wildlife tour. I think the captains name is Ed (he was an ex-cop with lots of experience in rescuing wild animals!)

Everglades Area tours completely messed up in terms of giving address and phone number. They gave Calusa marina address and phone no. And Calusa marina guys sent us to a different marina and from there to a different marina. Initially it was quite frustrating. Finally we found our boat Captain/guide. If its not for the address mess up I would have given them 5 stars. I don't understand why they did not mail me guide's name and phone number.

Now the good part; our guide is very knowledgeable, friendly and discussed with us things we could do. We opted for dolphins, birds and shelling. He explained about various shells with real examples and kids were quite excited. The way he convinced dolphins to swim in the wake of the boat is just awesome (no cheap tricks like offering food to dolphins etc). Also he took utmost care not to hurt dolphins. I could never forget the way dolphins swam behind our boat and jumping out of the water. I was able to capture some nice dolphin action shots! I did dolphin tours earlier too and this is the best.

En-route to a small island we saw different birds (gray and white pelicans, ospreys, different crane species, hawks etc). For few seconds we did see a sea turtle too. He took us to a nice small island for shelling. Adults and kids, everyone loved shelling. We collected good amount of shells.

While coming back he has shown us more dolphin pods and convinced dolphins again to swim behind the boat! All in all a wonderful boat tour for both adults and kids!

We are sorry about the communication. We literally changed marinas the days before and there we a few tours that were a bit in limbo. We tried to call and email all that we affected, but I guess we missed with you (got caught in a spam box). All that is behind us now. We are glad that you enjoyed the experience (once you actually got to the boat!). Hopefully, you will try one of our other experiences.
