Stayed overnight as attended a wedding. Lovely grounds and chapel. Food at the wedding reception was outstanding. Could not fault it. Rooms comfortable. Great hot showers.

Needs a bar for guests to drink / socialise at between wedding and reception.

Staff were good value.

We stayed here on the 10th May 2014 Receptionist very lovely Rooms were the standard room No complaints if anything loved the shower so much HOT water The grounds are beautiful, shame it was raining The chapel was cute The waiting staff were excellent The food well the antipasto was nice The entrees were huge but did not look good There was Beef Lasagna and Ricotta Cannelloni I had the second one it was okay Main was a lamb shank on some mashed orange stuff ? and the second 50 / 50 was pork chop I had what felt like the remains of the antipasto gathered and made into a tower Looked nice but was so oily I wood of put a rice dish then covered it with the antipasto The rice would of soaked up the oil The dessert was the saving grace of the meal Crepes with fruit and Meringue I tried both and they were delicious The meringue was not too sweet which surprised me If I was the chef and saw how much food came back uneaten I would fire myself The reception room was okay Nothing flash as I was expecting It was the company of the evening that made the night and the staff of the estate except who ever cooked the meals

Room Tip: parking is at back and there are stairs try and get a room on the second level

Went to a wedding here recently & the food was AWFUL. Greasy canapés, inedible & gristly steak and horrible chicken with some kind of tasteless oily Indian vegetable muck. The food still haunted me & several others 3 days after the wedding, so many people got sick! Decor is tired & no lights mean you walk around in the dark to get to your car. Avoid at all costs!

I would only recommend staying here if you absolutely had to. And if you do not have your own transportation then don't consider it at all.
The rooms were very dated, big massive brown heaters sticking out of the wall that may or may not work.
The UHT milk in the fridge in at least 3 of the rooms I had access to were out of date but nearly 2 years!
The beds because of their age were rock hard and not having a restaurant or cafe on site was inconvenient given the distance to the nearest shops
If you stay here for a wedding be sure to bring all your own supplies.

We chose this hotel because of its location near Mount Dandenong. It probably used to be great but it is now run down and in need of a good refurbishing. The room was clean but dated (old TV, drapes that did not close properly). The outside corrridors leading to the parking lot was full of dried leaves and spider webs. Had not be sweeped for ages. The pool was out of order. The reception area was far from inviting but the one good thing was the young girl at reception. She greeted us with a smile and showed us to our room. This hotel seems to cater to big groups.

Me and my Wife went to a Wedding nearby in August 2007.

Location:
The hotel was very close to Mount Dandenong (about 20 minutes drive). This is about 1 hour from Melbourne CBD
There are plenty of shops, restaurants, etc nearby.
We used a hire car to get there, it is a few KM from the nearest railway station.

Price:
AUD $110 per night, special rate for our group booking.

Rooms:
Bed & Breakfast feel to them. Quite cosy, clean and comfortable. There wasn't anything hugely special about the rooms, but nothing wrong with them either.

Check In / Out:
Very fast, friendly staff, very helpful.

Facilities:
There was a pool, although in Winter it wasn't advisable to use this, it was too cold. Other than this, it was a typical motel, no gym, etc, but we didn't need anything fancy.

Overall Experience:
Very happy with our stay. Definately would stay there again if we are in the area.
