My partner had clams and oysters and said they were good, but other places were better. I had fried clam strip basket, which ended up mostly fries, and very little clam strips. Not a very good deal for your money. The shuckers were friendly, as well as the female bartender....service was fast.

Steamed oysters, fried pickles and calamari were delicious. Fun place to eat and drink and can they pour a good drink.

Well, it SMELLS like an Oyster Troff ! No surprise, the interior decor resembles the exterior of Ma & Pa Kettle's Kitchen and the Bar itself- IS The Troff. You just simply devour your ocean treat's, dump your empty shells over the bar and they slide down a ramp into a bucket. Hence, several hours after opening time, the odor from the left-overs can become a bit dicey, to say the least..... Almost like dead-fish on the beach. We're told, by many, that this is a local hang-out and sometimes, on a moments notice, a Biker Bar. The Oysters and Steamed Clam's I ordered were all 'fresh' but, the service from The Shucker was very slow. I waited about 25 minutes for the 2nd batch and pretty much filled up on the Hush Puppies~ waiting & waiting. zzzzzzzzzzzz.......zzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
I would have to concur with many other reviewers here, they are severally under-staffed. I can only sympathize with the poor girl's left in employment, as I'm sure the clientele they attract are not Big Tippers. Probably more into 'butt slapping' then a hefty tip. So, if you happen to like an atmosphere of loud patrons, blaring music, sloshing beer, and fresh seafood served at Low Tide..... an hour and a half from the closest beach...... slowly ~ you're gonna love it here.

we used to frequent your place quite often Since seeing a steady decline in the service, food quality and atmosphere - we have been going less and less. Wednesday night 7/3/2013 was the final time! we waited over 45min for lightly steamed oysters during a time when it was not very busy. we watched a server be terribly rude to a customer who was only having beer. She insisted he "tab out" for his pitcher if he was not eating. Geez, let him and his girl enjoy their beer. this was very uncomfortable. then, we were OVERCHRAGED for the 3 items we had... a bucket oyster - $26, clam strip basket - $8 (happy hour), and a soda $2.19 = $42.19 ??? Guess she included her tip?? We didn't say anything. We left. We will NEVER be back.

No need to go to the beach area for oysters if you're visiting in Eustis. The Oyster Troff has the freshest and best oysters in the area and they are shucked right in front of you. The atmosphere is OK but the place is always busy, so I'm sure the locals know something that visitors don't.
