“Lovely sandy beach.”

Bowditch Point Regional Park

We visit Fort Myers every January from the UK for some winter sun and love Bowditch Point. Its a great place for an early morning walk on the beach and often you will see dolphins very close in. The beach was expanded last year and is now a huge mass of gorgeous white sand. You will always be able to find a good spot to soak up the sun and chill out. The car park is small and is often full by 11.30 at weekends. Usually when we are there in january the ospreys have just had some chicks and are diving into the water for fish. We go early or late and its lovely. There are restrooms and a small cafe. Its also a good spot to watch the sunsets, so take you beach chairs and enjoy the stunning Florida colours as the sun sets on the ocean. Old time Florida at its best.

Nice, quiet experience. A nature lover's, birder's, and photographer's delight.

If you are at the main Ft Myers Beach go to the end of Estero Island for a more relaxing atmosphere. Clean white sand, boats traveling in and out of the backwater. Less hustle and bustle. Newly built bathroom facility. Parking lot possibly full but beach is away from the bars and crowds and perfect for a more quiet atmosphere. I love it!

If you want to be away from the hustle and bustle of Fort Myers beach, you might want to try this beach not far from the main beach, but more quiet.

Bowditch is at the end of the Island and has limited parking ,picnic areas and quiet beaches. The larger shrimp boats and gambling and fishing boats pass by and that makes a playground for dolphins to play in their wake. One of my favorite Lee Island Group beaches. Trees, shade areas Concession, clean rest rooms
