If you're looking for frozen bar food in a fun, outdoor setting with live music, this is the place for you. The service is o-k. The food is food you can get on any bar menu on the coast. There are no fresh "catch of the day" selections on the menu here. It's basically a tourist trap perfectly located across from the public beach. But if you're looking for a fun spot to sit and have a drink and listen to some music, then by all means, this spot is perfect! If you're looking to get a little more bang for your buck as far as food is concerned, then keep driving.

As a year-round resident I am always amazed at what the tourists and snowbirds will settle for. Like Flounders and Lock n Key, White Elephant seems to be in competition to see who can outdo the others with their watered down pricey drinks, lousy pricey food and loud annoying Jimmy Buffett wannabe one man bands that should stick with karaoke. The difference is at White Elephant you can sit by nasty, fetid water that often smells like untreated raw sewage. If you want a great meal on Manasota Key in a civilized setting try Gulfview Grill.

This place is incredibly retro, and is somewhere you go to socialize, see your mates, have a drink or two, listen to music, and oh, yes you can get something to eat.
We were here on karaoke night, and were really surprised by how good some people were. You could tell they were regulars, and faithfully came to every karaoke night!
Prices are average for the area, the oysters were good, and if you stick to burgers or fish or salad, you won't be unhappy.
Service is slowish, but to be fair this place is meant to be chilled, so relax! Flounders across the road is similar in every aspect, and both are worth a visit.

I have taken friends to this beach bar-n-pub and we have had mixed results. The lunches are just OK and the dinners are less so. It is a convenient beach pub near my rental property, so, I use it to treat my friends, relatives and renters. I wish the entrance was less austere, but, once in the restaurant section the pub ambiance gets better. The view of the inter-coastal waterway is nice and the noise level is OK ... one is able to have an uninterrupted conversation while eating and drinking.

I will eat and drink there again.

This is a great place by the beach to hang out. Live outdoor music, large drafts, good cocktails and good food. While the beer was cheap, the wine by the glass was a bit overpriced at $8 but the fun Tiki bar atmosphere made up for it. The bartenders at the Tiki bar were top notch and right on their game, no long waits here (thanks Shana!). If you want more than just a dine and dash, I recommend. Relaxing and fun.
