This was a first-time experience for my family of four. We launched from Stump Pass Beach State Park with my husband and I each toting a kid (8 and 11). It was suggested that they both ride because apparently kids under 12 tire out 20 minutes in and that would definitely have been true for both my kids that day. I think some sort of experience geared towards introducing kids to paddleboarding would be great! Our two guides were great teachers - very patient and thorough, very knowledgeable. We all had so much fun and would love to try other tours when we're in the area. Loved the paddleboarding, very impressed with the people...
This was our first experience on a paddleboard and Nicole did a great job giving my daughter (22) and I a lesson with lots of safety tips which really built our confidence.. We are kayakers, but paddleboarding is a totally different experience! We launched out of Stump Pass Park, which was much nicer than being in a crowded marina. I will be visiting Manasota Key again in February and will definitely be a repeat customer!
Paddleboarding was more difficult than I expected in terms of balance, but Nicole was an awesome guide and very patient with us newbies! We went twice, once in the Don Pedro area and another time out at Stump Pass. The water was very choppy our day at Stump Pass, and if you are out of shape or have difficulty balancing, you will benefit from checking the water and weather conditions ahead of time and waiting for a very calm day. Trust me lol. Overall, great experience!
