My wife and I have been meaning to visit this restaurant for a long time, we have driven by many times and just ended up somewhere else for one reason or another. Last night we made a concerted effort and dropped by. It turned out to be a very good experience. The place was very busy which is a good indication of what we should have expected. My wife likes Italian food but being a dainty eater has never mastered the art of eating spaghetti. It always ends up getting slurped up and nipped off with sauce down her front LOL, however she was delighted to see that the spaghetti could be exchanged for vegetables. Myself (being a less dainty eater) dived right in to my chicken Parmigania and spaghetti which was absolutely delicious. My wife had chicken masala which she enjoyed with her veggies, she would have preferred a more richer masala sauce however it did not take away her enjoyment of the carefully prepared dish. The salad was fresh and tasty with a nice house dressing. Cost wise I consider $25 each for dinner and two drinks excellent value. Our waitress a pleasant middle aged lady (server #3) had us served in twenty minutes and was amazingly organised given the large amount of people she was serving. On observing the staff overall I noted everyone very busy with lots of good attitude, this always is an indication of a well run restaurant as the tone is established from the management down. We will definitely be back.

If you're looking for fancy white linens, decorative plates and the price tag to go along with it, this is not the place for you. If you want to eat in a place that feels like you've just entered someone's home kitchen, then come on in! Nicola's is what it claims to be… family-run, (yes, the owner aka "Mom" to the manager, is in the kitchen with her son-in-law chef) authentic, and comfortable. The food is made to order, so don't expect pour-it-out-of-a-jar fast, but it's worth the wait if you do end up waiting longer than expected. The family doesn't put out false claims - they don't say it's going to be fast or fancy, they say it's going to be good and if you don't like what you've ordered, the owners do what they can to make it right. In this day of instant gratification expectations and the insatiable hunger to "tell the world how you feel" as fast as you can through social media, it's refreshing to walk into a restaurant dedicated to good old-fashioned eating surrounded by a little honesty, integrity and of course, garlic!

We arrived from UK into Miami Airport, hired a car, drove up and went to this restaurant feeling hungry. We all had fabulous meals and the waitress was very friendly. Portions are generous. A great start!
