“Park and Beach Combo”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 24, 2013

The Stump Pass Beach Park is my idea of a park and beach Combo. We arrived around 10:30am and the lot was full. Park personnel assured us we would have a spot in under 30 minutes, so my wife went to the beach and I waited about 15 minutes. As someone mentioned, arriving before 10am is best for parking.

We walked the nature trail and saw turtles, crabs, blue herons and other wildlife. A nest in a large old tree has baby owls you could see clearly. At the end of the trail, you reach the start of the beach to your right. The whole area is beautiful. We walked back along the beach, just amazed by the sights.

“Beautiful but....”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 6, 2013

When I visited there was the result of "Red Tide" with dead fish everywhere. There were also a large amount of fat looking Turkey Buzzards! Put this to one side it is a really attractive spot with plent of wildlife. Just watching the pelicans flying low over the water is a real treat. You can walk around the whole headland or through the middle. The beach is sandy and loaded with shells, a really nice walk in the sunshine and wading in the shallows.

“One of the Best!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2013

Stump Pass Park Beach is one of the best on Florida's Gulf Coast. Be sure to walk the nature trail (1.2 miles in length starting at the parking lot) and watch the wildlife all around you - turtles may cross your path - eagles and herons will fly overhead. Look for the owls' nests high above in the trees. Bring your binoculars. The actual "Stump Pass" is at the end of the trail and the view at this point is spectacular - this is where Lemon Bay meets the Gulf. A mile or more of wonderful beach for swimming and sunning just off the parking lot at the park entrance. Beware - the parking area is relatively small - plan to arrive before 10 a.m. to find a place to park. There is a $3 parking fee.

“Great beach - fossilized shark teeth!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 6, 2013 via mobile

Great, simple beach. Clean and quiet. Very pretty area before you get to the beach are, lush and pretty veg. We found close to 75 fossilized shark teeth at the far end (head all the way to the right). Get a sifter shovel from beach road boutique and you will find a bunch for sure. A fun place.

“Heavenly”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 5, 2013

I have visited many beaches in my life but this has to be the best beach I have ever visited in the world! The sand is lovely and white and the see is a lovely shade of blue. I love to walk up and down the beach and take in the lovely scene around me. It feels like a little bit of paradise in an unexpected place. What surprises me the most that 2 miles up the road at Englewood beach it isn't half as nice. Definitely worth the $3 entry/parking fee.
