Zeke's is a bar, plain and simple. They have a good kitchen and I understand they occasionally pair up with Vino Loco and do a fancy dinner, but this is a get-out-of-the-sun joint, with concrete floors and plastic Budweiser cups even for the bloody marys. Come by boat, come by car--it's worth the effort. Sometimes the music is pretty loud, but last week we stopped in and saw Frank & Sam--and I was really impressed.
This week we dropped in for lunch, which was a step above the average american hamburger, but is still a paper plate kind of fare. I had a caprese salad, my wife had the best sandwich she can recall--a lettuce tomato, bacon and avadado on multi-grain bread. Like I say, not McD's or your local "last call" joint kind of meal--
What makes this place worth all the money is the food and it's on the dock of the Royal Palm Marina. The sunsets are killers. But all day there are boaters and fisherfolks, and live-aboards who are busy with their boats and provide an ever-changing view.
