I would highly recomend this hotel when you are in the Dunedin Area. The location is excellent (by the water) and the treatment of the hotel staff was superb!! We made our reservation directly with the hotel and our rate included breakfast at the on property restaurant. I have to say what an incredible extra perk for our room, the breakfast was not the poor on lobby grab and go, it was a warm seat down breakfast at a waterfront restaurant!!!

We will be coming back to this delightful hotel in Dunedin since we have fell in love with the area!

We were promised rooms that were then sold out from under us. We had wanted to pay for the rooms in advance but were told not necessary, that the reservations alone was all that was needed. Because we were needing multiple rooms over a holiday weekend, 2 months before our scheduled stay, we stopped to actually pay the rooms even though we had been told not to. At that time we were told that the rooms weren't available and they could not find the "supposed" reservations. We were then offered lesser rooms for a higher rate. I don't know what kind of business that is, but we will never consider accomodations at any Best Western or affiliates in the future.

seeing the location, on the waterfront and named Yacht Harbor Inn, you would expect water views from the rooms. instead, you view a parking lot from what looks like the majority of rooms; the actual water view is from the walkway to the rooms; this you only get while walking to your room though. looks like it was built like the Taj in Mumbai: entrance(s) facing the wrong way:). our room had broken windows, a door to the balcony (overlooking same parking lot) that was extremely hard to open, and an entry door that could not be closed without slamming hard.

restaurant, on the other had, a very good experience: for outdoor brunch with local friends, for dinner at the bar, and even for breakfast the next day; all staff very friendly and informative; food and drinks generous and of decent quality.

would not stay in the hotel again but certainly patronize the restaurant

We just happened to come across this BEST WESTERN PLUS while looking for a quiet place to vacation for a few days.

This hotel is located right outside the quaint village of Dunedin, Florida, adjacent to the Dunedin Marina. Our room had a private balcony overlooking the marina and the back door led out to a common deck overlooking the intercoastal which reminded us of a cruise we took on a ship. We could sit on benches at night and delight in the look and sound of the water.

We were greeted by very friendly and personable Front Desk Staff. The room was spotlessly clean and the housekeeping staff we met were all friendly and anxious to please.

The weekend we stayed there was a Christmas Boat Parade where the boats travelled across to Clearwater Beach and back into the Marina. What a delightful surprise! We were able to watch from our private balcony, or we could have watched from the Pier or while eating at the restaurant on the property.

The village was loaded with fabulous shops and restaurants. We were not there long enough to enjoy the beach which was just around the corner at Honeymoon Island or a short drive to Clearwater.

We are looking forward to returning to this wonderful hotel, with its friendly staff, in this wonderful town of Dunedin.

Room Tip: Two stories-if you want a private balcony, choose a second floor room.

We visited this Best Western hotel recently and found the staff at reception very helpful.
We changed our room from the ground floor to the first floor, being a larger room and better sea views. It was well worth the extra $20 per night. We noticed that there was a refit taking place, whilst we were there,of some rooms.
We were very disappointed with the swimming pool as it was a lot smaller than it appeared in the photographs, and there was no shade. Also it was right by the road.
The town is only five minutes walk away, where there are some good restaurants serving breakfasts, lunch and dinner.Try cafe Alfresco ,very good food and service.
Take a boat ride from Clearwater beach "Toot tours" will guarantee that you will see the dolphins and we did.
