“Cheap Eats”
Reviewed September 7, 2012

Good food at very inexpensive prices, for the most part. Cash only - no credit cards. There is an ATM. Breakfast platter is excellent. I am not sure why the breakfast sandwich is only slightly cheaper for a lot less food. Lunch is good as well. Special steak sandwich (sort of a Philly Cheese) is my favorite. You can "make it a platter" - add fries and close slaw, for just $1.00 extra. Lots of retirees in there eating breakfast around noon. Food service can be a little slow when crowded.

“Old time prices, cool decor, good food!”
Reviewed September 6, 2012

Loved the decor - photos and memorabilia related to covered bridges. Food was simple, good, homestyle - great prices!

“Neighborhood eatery”
Reviewed August 18, 2012 via mobile

I always stop by at least once when I'm in the area. Nothing fancy, but just down home cooking. For me, breakfast is the best offering time.

“Old Fashioned and Comfy”
Reviewed August 13, 2012

The atmosphere of the Covered Bridge has been upgraded recently from tacky with a lot of postcards on the wall to tacky with more organized bridge pictures and nice curtains, but the place retains its retro diner feeling, which I happen to like. Breakfast is generally quite good and inexpensive by local standards, but the home made corn beef hash is totally weird. Although they serve dinner several days a week, their lunch is best. I particularly like the choice of 5-6 soups, including cream soups, like asparagus and broccoli, and they even have a lobster bisque. Their ice cream is excellent and inexpensive (Working Cow brand). The burgers are good, the meals sort of Italian oriented and standard, and the steak hoagies really fine. Service varies, but everybody is nice. We go there repeatedly and bump into friends and relatives pretty often.
