“Wow! Worth the effort to get there.”
Reviewed August 15, 2013

We stumbled on this wonderful place by accident. The ferry ride was fun, & we saw a bunch of dolphins. Honeymoon Island is supposed to have its own State park, but we just used it as a launching pad for the ferry. I'm a Siesta Key girl, but was surprised how much I liked this beach. The shells were bountiful & intact, & the whole experience was worth every penny. One word of caution though- check the departing ferry's last departure. Definitely a MUST SEE.

“Relaxing Getaway!”
Reviewed August 14, 2013 via mobile

This is my new favorite spot. Honeymoon island was very crowded and my fiancé and I wanted to venture off to Caladesi. Don't let the $14 per person for the ferry keep you away! It's definitely worth every penny!! You get a nice 10-15 min boat ride and once you get to the island, the beach is only less than a 5 min walk away. Less crowded and way more beautiful! We will definitely be back. (There's also a $1 off per person coupon on their website for the ferry). Ps. Don't forget to bring your own coolers, umbrella & chairs. ;)

“Awesome Beach!!”
Reviewed August 14, 2013

We took the ferry over from Honemoon Island. The ferry was a little expensive, but the beach was well worth it. The beach was awesome and not crowded. We were able to find a ton of shells too!

“Off the bucket list”
Reviewed August 14, 2013

The beach was nice, and if you want a short boat ride with a chance to see some dolphins this is a good way to get both beach and boating in. One concession stand that is a bit pricey.

“Great place for R&R”
Reviewed August 11, 2013 via mobile

Honeymoon departure was smooth- every half hour the ferry takes a group to Caladesi. They write in a time on your ticket to come back from the island (maybe 4 1/2 hours or so). The attendants were very friendly. The captain and mate were also friendly and stopped the ferry to sightsee the dolphins in the water. The ride isn't too long and Caladesi is mostly quiet and a great place to swim, sunbathe, or sit in the shade. Some people read books, while others played ball. Overall, a great place that's not as crowded as Clearwater. Great place for R&R or a bit more privacy.
