“Nice place well worth the money!!”
Reviewed October 14, 2012

The room looked just like the picture online, nicely decorated and clean. Up to date bathroom though turning on the shower was a little awkward. The first day we had no hot water, but as soon as we called they sent a nice young man to our room who fixed the problem right away. The staff in the office were friendly and helpful. Sunsets were beautiful from our balcony!! Nice waterfront & pool area. Can't wait to stay there again!!

Exchanged via our Festiva Adventure Club for a week in this unaffiliated resort. We occupied a one bedroom unit, 406, for one nearly endless week of vacation. On the upside the unit was clean, the decor was attractive and living area seemed spacious. Then we figured out why. The downside, this will take awhile. The living area looked roomy due to the scanty kitchen and tiny two person cafe style dining table. No dishwasher, an older small fridge that had to be turned to nine to get cool enough to leave food in, No oven, two stove top burners and a microwave with a burned out badly needed light, about two square feet of countertop which meant no prep space as it was needed for the dish strainer, no garbage disposal, no paper towel holder, though paper towels were provided. Nice couch/bed and huge cabinet for the television both in the living room and bedroom. At least it looked huge when you opened it to find an older twenty inch television in it, in each room. Had to move the one real chair in the room up closer to really see what was on. Then you about froze to death from the in-room air conditioning units (no central air). In a week of endless manipulation we never really got a comfortable temperature established for long. Glad the couch was comfortable as I was exhausted from having to hand-carry all our luggage to the room as they have no luggage carts, probably because of the short section zig-zag walkway/front balcony which doubles your length of walk to your door. Craziest place to get into we have encountered. Pack light and avoid long items like golf bags and fishing poles. Other points my gal was quick to notice: No full length mirror anywhere, only closet to hang clothes in the hallway, no bathtub though a large shower; but no light in the shower so if you close the curtain to contain the water don't drop the soap in the dark, no place to hang damp washcloth or towel, no cabinetry in bathroom except a couple of shelves towels are on,pedestal sink . No mirror, closet, or place to sit in the bedroom. Insufficient lighting throughout the unit. Oh and computer service that was marginally available in the unit maybe ten percent of the time, it apparently blew in and out with every change in the wind direction. NEVER got more than two bars. The employees are pleasantly ineffective. Other than the above and I forgot the phone failure, a very nice place. On the bay and has a dock but no beach. The bar and grill is busy on weekends and I think it is probably the main draw for the place. All rooms are above ground level and serviced by one elevator for each 48 unit structure. Lord help you should it ever break. Did I mention pack light?

Room Tip: Huh, try to get a low number room, like something 01 or 202. That way you won't have so far to c...

Overall, this was nice. It is on the Gulf, but has no beach. The outside hallways are very strange because they zig-zag all along the way making it hard to roll the luggage carts. The unit was 2-story, but the bedroom on the 2nd story was so hot no one would want to sleep there. There was a noisy portable cooler running. We are glad we didn't need to use it. The furniture in the unit was quite uncomfortable, bed wasn't TOO bad however. The weekend breakfast was a nice surprise. The restaurant is on the 4th floor overlooking the gulf. Dunedin is an especially lovely community to stay.

All the little extras like free bikes and Internet moved it from good to excellent. Suite very comfortable and close to all shops and restaurants. Staff very helpful and rectified little faults very quickly.

Thank you for the excellent review Paul. As you commented, it's all the "little extras" that earned us the 2012 top ranking as Tampa Bay Magazines Best Boutique Resort! We hope to see you again soon.

We recently stayed at the Beso Del Sol Resort Aug. 10 - 17/12 to celebrate our 16th Wedding Anniversary. We had a 1 bedroom unit on the 2nd floor, it had a combination of sleeping area with a small kitchen, living room and 2 bathrooms. Our accommodations were spotless, the furnishings were more than comfortable. The welcome package was fantastic!! The staff were fabulous from Walter the Manager to Britney in the office, Robin on the pool deck and anyone at the resort that you would talk to. They were extremely accommodating, friendly and more than helpful :) The adjacent beaches were beautiful, but renting 2 beach chairs and an umbrella were very costly ($20 - $25/day) so we requested at the office and they had ones there to lend out for guest use. It was nice to have live entertainment Fri. and Sat. night, quality of entertainment was excellent local entertainment. We had a great time and yet it was very respectable and they made sure that everything was completely closed by 11 p.m. out of respect for other guests and also the community. We chose to go to a different beach every day and also do some shopping because this resort is nicely located. In the evening we would
enjoy the beautiful sunsets, have a swim or relax in the hot tub. For those interested their gym is very well equipped as well as having a computer station or if you prefer there is wifi in the rooms resort.

Thanks to all at the resort for making our vacation a memorable one, we'll definitely be back in the very near future.

My husband, son, and 2 cousins stayed a week at Beso for the 2nd time and still love the place and staff. Walter was welcoming and helped answer all of our questions. The other staff was also very attentive to our needs & guided us to where we wanted to go. The great thing is we experienced new things this year such as the Trolley ride into Clearwater beach and Honeymoon island. We found soooo many shells at Honeymoon - so much fun to do with the kiddo - and we rode the bikes Beso offers far along a trail nearby. Was happy to see the newly added tiki-hut umbrellas by the pool; provided a nice atmosphere & much needed shade and the Marker 8 restaurant on the top floor - such a gorgeous view, friendly staff and good value for the money. We will definitely go back! :)

I wanted to go to Honeymoon Island for our anniversary so I searched for motels near there and found Beso Del Sol. What a great place. Our room with a balcony overlooked the water and we had a wonderful time sitting on our balcony and listening to the music from below. We had breakfast in the restaurant on the 3rd floor looking out over the water. What a fabulous place to celebrate our anniversary.

Room Tip: Stay in a waterfront room if you like to hear the music from the Tiki Bar from your balcony.
