The West Coast of Florida has more people looking for campgrounds than the supply provides. Consequently prices are significantly higher than parks on the East Coast and with fewer amenities.
The Tampa East Campground is large and as, my fellow traveler described it, "eclectic."
There are permanent sites of old trailers, new 5th wheels, Class C trucks & vans with some on nicely landscaped sites. There are also some really old rigs with "For Sale" or "Vendre" signs. You'll also find recent model class A Diesel pushers parked next to park models.
Some sites ("Super" as described on the web site) have concrete drive-thru pads. We were parked next to a beautiful Prevost conversion.
Water pressure and taste are good and there was adequate 50-amp service at my site.
What wasn't there were cable TV and free Wi-Fi. The dreaded Tengonet was very much in evidence providing Internet access at almost $7 a day! These missing cable TV and WiFi put this park in a low-value position. Also, over-the-air antennae have difficulty pulling in a signal from Tampa and the many large trees make satellite reception spotty.
There is no security as there are no gates and access from US 92 and I-4 is easy for anyone looking to steal from coaches while owners are away for the day.
There was a nice swimming pool in the East Section of the park where I stayed, along with a fitness center and laundry room. All were very clean. The rest rooms and fitness center have key coded doors while the park itself is wide open.
For those with dogs, there is no area set aside for walking.
The Driscoll fruit processing plant is right next store to the Oaks section and it operates 24/7 with loud machinery.
At the risk of sounding politically incorrect I noted that this park has the most unfriendly guests I've seen anywhere. More than half of the license plates were from Province Quebec and many were pointedly rude. This attitude seems to prevail among the Quebecois only rather than visitors to this country from the rest of Canada. A visitor from Prince Edward Island was cheerful and eager to chat. Another from British Columbia was happy to be here also and to chat up us natives.
Probably the biggest selling point of Tampa East RV Resort is its proximity to Tampa. We were here for the RV show at the Fairgrounds and this park (and Lazy Days down the road) are ideally sited. Accordingly, the rates go up even more when the RV show is in progress.

Room Tip: Be absolutely sure and tell the desk people the size of your coach ad the access is over narrow stre...
