I remember saying these exact words while we were there. "They have thought of everything!" If you want to get away to relax and leave your cares behind, this is the perfect place. My husband and I could not believe the view from our room. You are right on the beach! We stayed in an Executive Room on the first floor in the east building(not the main building) and we found it to be perfect for us. Very spacious with wonderfully soft linens and an extremely comfortable bed. They give you tons of towels which is great and you have water in your room mini-fridge. The view from the balcony was breath-taking.

And now for the rest of the highlights: The breakfast staff is unbelievable. I think Greg their chef never has a bad day! They are incredible and the food is outstanding. Fresh baked scones, any and every kind of fruit you could imagine, wonderful omelettes, waffles, bacon, grits, you name it. Oh and how could I leave off the fresh biscuits! The best part is that you can eat in the dining room or out of the porch which is beautiful. The lunch they provide is incredible too. It was nice to come up to the porch to eat or just eat right on the beach.

Now to the beach. It is so awesome and we spent every minute we could there! There are enough chairs and umbrellas for everyone so there is no need to get up to reserve your spot which is so nice! If you have been other places, you know that is not the case. Adds to the relaxation. You are right on the beach so your walk is very short which is nice.

We loved staying here and would definitely return. The whole staff is so wonderful. The only note I would make for other travelers is that the interenet is fairly slow so if you are planning to conduct alot of business it could be challenging. Frankly I was glad because it allowed us to relax and spend time together that much more!! When you add it all up this place has tons of value and is very romantic for the couple looking for something special.
Thank you so much Henderson Park Inn!

Room Tip: The executive room was extremely spacious!

My wife and I stayed here for two nights to celebrate our anniversay. I booked the Presidential Suite which was $680 per night. The suite was huge and very beautiful with a refrigerator stocked with water, soft drinks and candy bars. It also had a 50 inch flat screen t.v. in the living room which was nice. The bedroom had a huge bed with wine, grapes and walkout doors to a patio overlooking the ocean. The beach had beautiful sand and clear water. There was very little seaweed but the waves were really big and were knocking people down. As other reviews mention, there is a daily happy hour on the patio from 4 to 5pm. You can attend in your bathing suit or as you are as it is very informal. You can get beer, margarita, long island tea, etc. for no charge. The breakfast buffet each morning is awesome. A chef makes to order omelets and they have potatoes, sausage, etc. We ate both nights at the on site restaurant called The Beachwalk. You have to have reservations for this spot. Food was outstanding but service is extremely slow. Plan on two hours for the dinner experience. Lunches are boxed up from Heavenly Ham and are good. The staff at the hotel are all very professional and helpful. There is a Publix a few blocks away if you need to purchase any supplies. There is a small restaurant down the street within walking distance callded Camillas. Try their roast beef sandwich which is piled high in between two halfs of garlic bagel. Awesome! One last note--they gave us a CD to take home that has photos of the resort and music. Nice touch. I highly recommend this spot for adults seeking a romantic getaway with no kids in sight.

Room Tip: Get a room on a lower floor.

My husband and I recently stayed at The Henderson Park Inn and had a wonderful time. Our stay was much too short and we would love to go back sometime in the future. It is an adults only inn which we loved! That was one of our main reasons for staying there.

The Henderson has a fantastic location with white, sandy beaches and access to the Gulf. One side of it is located next to a state park and the beach seems to have more privacy because of that. Every morning the staff put out beach umbrellas with two chairs under each umbrella. There were always enough for everyone and it was not necessary to reserve umbrellas or chairs which was a great added feature. Beach towels were plentiful and easily accessed. The breakfast was fantastic--very tasty, plenty of it and basically anything you would want. The chef made omelettes or whatever you wanted. Oh, and the fresh squeezed orange juice was wonderful! You could eat inside or outside on the balcony. There was a window of time for breakfast which was very nice as you didn't have to rush down to breakfast at a set time. Boxed lunches from Honey Baked Ham were provided with your choice of sandwich or salad from a selection sheet. You could eat your lunch anywhere you wanted--even on the beach. After lunch, lemonade and cookies were provided. Around 4:00 was happy hour. They seemed to have almost anything you would want. The frozen strawberry margaritas were very good. We took ours to the beach. The Beach Walk Cafe was its onsite restaurant. We ate dinner there one evening and had a fantastic waitress. The gourmet food was good and we had a great time as we ate on the balcony. It is wise to get a reservation for dinner before the evening you plan to eat there as they get very booked and the more desirable times go quickly. We made our reservation before we left home. The Henderson has a great balcony area which is where the happy hour is located. There is shade as well as sunny areas on the balcony with plenty of seating and even a swing. Small refrigerators in the lobby area are stocked with complimentary water, soda and candy. A coffee machine is located there as well. You can always find what you are looking for.

We stayed in a king room on the third floor of the main building. Our balcony was very small, but we didn't mind since we were hardly ever in our room. However, we did have a problem with finding places to set items. The room was large; it would have been very easy to fit in another table. Also, two luggage racks would have been nice. In the bathroom, there was a small table. Either two tables or a larger one would have been more helpful. We would have appreciated having a new bar of soap left each day as it didn't last long at all. There were two wash cloths left daily along with four towels and two hand towels. We had to ask for more wash cloths as one each is just not enough. The bed and bedding were nice and there was an extra blanket in the room which we ended up using. The TV was so small that it was hard to see from the bed or from anywhere in the room. The room was not quite what we expected to go with the rest of the quality of the inn. With that being said, we still had a fantastic time and would definitely recommend The Henderson and stay there again.

From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, all the employees were friendly and courteous and very willing to help us in any way we asked.

Room Tip: Second floor rooms have larger balconies!

My husband and I found this jewel on the Gulf Coast when we surfing the Internet about twelve years ago. We were looking for a relaxing, quiet inn or bed and breakfast on the beach and were thrilled to find the Henderson Park Inn. We fell in love with it the first time we stayed and continue to visit 2-3 times each year. Tucked away on one of the most beautiful beaches in the Southeast, it continues to be our little piece of paradise, although we almost lost the Inn completely after Hurricane Ivan. The Inn was severely damaged after Ivan and plans were made to tear it down to build a condominium. Needless to say we were devastated and prayed for a miracle. Even though we heard it might be temporary, we were so delighted when it was renovated and reopened to the public. There is simply nowhere comparable nearby.

Having stayed there many times, I can truly say we’ve never been disappointed. The location is perfect, and the service is outstanding! Each guest is greeted with fresh flowers, a bottle of wine, and fresh fruit upon checking into the room and breakfast and lunch are included as are unlimited snacks and drinks, daily Happy Hour, and afternoon cookies and lemonade. No children are allowed at Henderson Park Inn, making it a quiet romantic retreat for couples. All rooms (with the exception of the Honeymoon Suite) overlook the beach where you can enjoy sitting on the balcony enjoying a beautiful sunset or sipping a glass of wine.

The Inn has two buildings (main building and the east building #2). The main building houses the restaurant, lobby, and outside bar. There are three floors and no elevators, so keep this in mind if you have difficulty with flights of steps. The second building is newer and does include an elevator and small sitting area downstairs. We enjoy staying in the executive suites (east building) on the second floor because the balconies are larger (the third floor balconies are much smaller and difficult to comfortably fit two chairs). Both buildings are located directly on the beach and have amazing views of the ocean. The restaurant is good, but dinner at the Inn is rather pricey, and there are so many fabulous restaurants in the Destin area (Maguire’s Irish Pub has the best steaks ever!) that we usually venture out for our evening meal. Breakfast is outstanding and lunches include boxed sandwiches from a nearby sandwich shop. All in all I cannot say enough about the quality of this property and the service of the staff. I have recommended it to many friends and colleagues, and none have been disappointed. Once you visit, you will quickly become a favorite vacation destination.

We had a fantastic stay at Henderson Park Inn. From our arrival to our departure, the entire trip was magnificent. Our room was an Executive Suite: spacious, great balcony, jetted Whirlpool tub. The breakfasts were wonderful everyday, from the freshly made omlets to the fabulous fresh berries. I loved the snack fridge. The complementary beach towels and beach chairs were an added bonus. Brad at the Tiki bar handled the happy hour crowd well. Natalie at the front desk was terrific, as was the whole stafff! Very friendly and helpful

Room Tip: Executive Suite, building 2 for future trips

Spent 4 nights at HPI. Location is terrific right on the beach and just off of Hwy 98 near shopping and restaurants. Room we stayed in was a Coastline Suite, was pretty with a nice view and small balcony that looked west down the beachline. Bed was very comfortable and room was always cleaned nicely. Nice bar out on the deck where people would congregate for happy hour and overlook the gulf. The included breakfast was very good with most anything you would find at a normal buffet type American breakfast to include omelets made to order, fresh fruit and pastries amongst many other items. Lunches were box lunches from Honey Baked Ham. We weren't familiar with Honey Baked Ham until our stay, but the sandwiches were quite good for a box lunch. There was a fridge down in the lobby with cold sodas and candy that was complementary and always ready for the taking. Warm cookies and lemonade were also complementary and available in the afternoons. No complaints to be had about the beach. Warm clear water and the white sand beaches that are the signature of this stretch of the gulf coast. A sandbar just off the shoreline seems to even block any of the seaweed that can sometimes be found along other parts of the gulf. We ate dinner at the restaurant located on site and it was very good, but fairly expensive, but the quality was in line with the price. We had a terrific stay and I really have no complaints at all. It is easy to start comparing everything to the pricing at all inclusive mexican resorts, but this is not really in the same category. HPI is a cozy, private location and has a totally different feel. Even though at peak seasons you might pay a little more than you would at an AI without getting a dinner and show routine, but HPI is well worth it if you want a private and classy but relaxed vacation. They also have local & military specials so inquire if you might qualify.
