“Wonderful oasis amid the FL panhandle sprawl !”
Reviewed April 17, 2013

Stayed a long weekend in January and what a pleasant surprise. Yes, it's right along the bustling 6 lane road through Destin. Yes, you can hear the road noise from the campground. Yes, the campground is a haul from the beach. But the convenience and location are worth it. The campground is spacious with lots of privacy at each site thanks to the thick, natural vegetation. The Florida gulf beaches are some of the nicest in the world (and we have seen many on several continents...) and are even more beautiful in this little slice of pristine beauty. You can enjoy all that Destin has to offer immediately outside of the campground gate, and then come back to your oasis in the park when you've had enough of the crowds. The facilities at the beach are excellent with outside rinse showers, clean restrooms, tons of picnic tables, and lots of parking. Highly recommend !

First of all, thank heavens this small park is here protecting a small strip of beach from developers! That said, it is a wonderful beach but right next to a lot of development. The sites are a big rigs dream! Huge, level sites, clean facilities and privacy between the sites. However, there is constant noise from the highway if you camp on the side closest to it so you don't have that 'away from it all' feel. I would go back though!

Beautiful park that is exceptionally clean and perfectly located for campers snd RV 's that want to be isolated, yet close to everything like the beaches and restaurants. You feel like you are in the middle of nowhere, but just outside the entrance are all the shopping, restaurants, and nightlife you might be looking for, the beach is one of the most beautiful and pristine of any in the US. Camped in. 42' luxury coach and site was large and spacious.

Rented a pull thru site that was a breeze to drive into. Stayed 5 days in September and spent most of our time at Destin attractions. The beach is quite a haul from the campgrounds but very nice once you get there. There is a video on U tube that showes every camp site there so you can choose the one you like. Can't think of anything bad about the campground. Beautiful water, A/C in bath houses, pull thru campsites and a bargain price. Walmart is right across the street if you forget something.
Great place!

We stayed here for the second time in our motorhome mid September 2012. The campsites are pretty large, with gravel, lots of privacy between you and neighbors, but no shade. The noise from the road is quite loud, you are just off the six lane Hwy 98 and constant noise. A Walmart is right across the entrance of the park and has Wi-Fi in the Mc Donald's.
The beach is very nice if the weather is just right, water is the clearest blue I've seen in Florida and I live in the state. However, the flies will eat you alive, black flies when there is no wind can ruin a day at the beach, and bug dope did no good. One thing that bothered us was the walk to the beach from the campground is 1/4 mile long (and no bikes aloud), so if you have to go potty, you have to walk all the way back to the bathhouse which can be quite a hike when you got to go. Carrying all your stuff down is quite a hike and many had wheeled carts to load up everything, very smart.
The bath houses were very clean and air conditioned. There really isn't anything to do here other than the beach, no bike or hiking trails, unless you want to ride your bike out along the highway.
We have pretty much decided we won't stay here again but will visit for a beach day and stay at another campground away from the busiest part of the city.

We tent camped for a few days. The location is great because it is so close to stores and places to eat, so it made camping a little easier. The campground was very clean and quiet. The staff was very nice and helpful. The bathrooms were really nice. Our loop was pretty full each night. The walk to the beach was extremely long and HOT, especially when carrying all of our beach stuff. The beach itself was so beautiful, perfectly clean. The water was warm, clear, clean. I loved it and hope to go back!!!

We spent six nights in our pop up camper on site 3 July 2012. What a great find! We could not see or hear our neighbors unless they happened to walk by on the drive. There was at least a five foot screen of trees and brush. Clotheslines, fire ring, table, and gravel pad made life easier. Very short walk for all the sites to the very clean air conditioned bath houses. They also offered two sets of washer/ dryers and a large counter with deep sink for cleaning up. I used it to wash dishes and was glad for the hot water. There was a paved walkway to the boardwalk and hidden swing set. The boardwalk is a good walk over and around the dunes. Take everything you will need on your first trip--you won't want to make more than one. Beaches were very clean and away from high rises. Stay-you'll be glad you did.
