Description: In 1984, Louisiana Lagniappe was opened and established inside Sandpiper Cove condominiums in what was at one time the Sandpiper Cove Yacht Club. A loyal following was quickly established due, in no small part, to the quality of the food and the attention to detail of the service. In 1998 The Southern Restaurant Group took ownership of the restaurant with a commitment to maintain the same level of food quality and service. Since then, Louisiana Lagniappe has consistently served only the freshest seafood and steaks. Now open year round, Louisiana Lagniappe is the spot for a memorable dining experience on all levels. In 1999, a second Louisiana Lagniappe was opened in the San Roc Cay Shopping and Marina Complex in Orange Beach, Alabama. Offering the same fine Louisiana seafood with a Creole flair, the attire is casual, yet an upscale waterfront dining experience is provided for the entire family.

Our house is down the street from Lagniappe, so it's very convenient for us. We come at least once on every trip to Destin, and have since they opened over thirty years ago! We've never been disappointed (but I am sad when crayfish is out of season) even though everything they serve is good. The location is the most unique in Destin. It overlooks the docks, and the sunsets and fireworks can be seen from their deck. We wish it were a well-kept secret, but it's not! Be prepared to wait on busy weeks...but have a drink while you do.

We tend to eat here every year when we are in Destin and NEVER go away disappointed. Make sure you get there early though as this place fills up and there will be a wait. I think our wait time was an hour, nothing a few beers at the bar cant fix though! Service was top notch and very attentive, food came out quick and everything was correct. Absolutely will go back...

Now...when you go, i beg you, PLEASE try the Lobster Rangoon appetizer!!!! Last year we tried it for the first time and absolutely hooked. We had 8 people at our table, think we ordered 6 orders of it just for apps!!! Now overly pricey (think it was $13.50 for like 8 pieces) and the dipping sauce and lobster wonton, just amazing. Please try it and reply here how amazing it is!!

No problems but for the price you shouldn't expect any. Service was excellent. Large group got everything served as ordered. I had the tuna steak and though it was very good, it was also very small and very pricey. Don't go here expecting much for your money and you won't go away disappointed. This is my Mom's favorite restaurant in Destin so I bite the bullet every year and foot the bill. Dad had soft shell crab and it was more than he could eat. Wife and daughter had the grouper served differently but both were very good. Again very small servings though. Beautiful setting on the bay in Sandpiper Cove. Reservations not accepted but you can call in to have your name put on the waiting list. This is helpful on busy weeks in Destin.

We ate here the week of the 4th. Shrimp and grits was awesome. Kinda fancy-ish for my vacay taste but we went in shorts and t shirts and it was fine. I think it is more a "local" place to eat. Family of 4 spent $145 for dinner which was a bit much for me but the portions and food were yummy!!

Everything about this restaurant was perfect. The ambiance (we sat outside), the food and the drinks were all great. The King Cake Martini was yummy, and the bread pudding topped off the end of our night. The servers and assistants were very helpful and patient as we tried to navigate the menu. There's also a sweet cat that apparently resides there and just wonders about. I'm not a huge cat fan, however this little old guy was just so sweet walking around and minding his own business. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!!
