Description: In 1984, Louisiana Lagniappe was opened and established inside Sandpiper Cove condominiums in what was at one time the Sandpiper Cove Yacht Club. A loyal following was quickly established due, in no small part, to the quality of the food and the attention to detail of the service. In 1998 The Southern Restaurant Group took ownership of the restaurant with a commitment to maintain the same level of food quality and service. Since then, Louisiana Lagniappe has consistently served only the freshest seafood and steaks. Now open year round, Louisiana Lagniappe is the spot for a memorable dining experience on all levels. In 1999, a second Louisiana Lagniappe was opened in the San Roc Cay Shopping and Marina Complex in Orange Beach, Alabama. Offering the same fine Louisiana seafood with a Creole flair, the attire is casual, yet an upscale waterfront dining experience is provided for the entire family.

Had dinner with friends, party of eight, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. Charlotte was our waitress and she did a fantastic job. I had the Grouper Louisiane and it was excellent. Being from Louisiana, we're pretty tough critics of seafood outside of Louisiana but Louisiana Lagniappe does not disappoint...This is a must when you're in Destin!!

my wife and I wintered in Destin and found this great place in the due course of eating at all the "best spots" in the area.
i love Cajun food but my wife is not a big fan - no problem at the Lagnapie - i had the jumbalia and gumbo and she had fresh grouper - both well prepared, tasty and moderately priced.
while the food is a big reason to visit this place, the deck overlokking the water on a nice night is the special sauce - very romantic setting and not overly crowded

Being a New Orleans native, I tend to be overly critical of attempts at cajun food. However, the chefs pull it off with great success. The pompano in parchment is one of my favorite dishes. You will have to wait to be seated, but the views and the food are worth the wait.

This place has been my favorite for cajun food for many years. Last night truly marked the last time I will ever frequent this restauarant. I ordered shirimp and seafood gumbo and jambalaya, normally, they are "to die for". Last night, the bowl of gumbo did not have one shrimp in the bowl and only three small peices of andoille sausage with about 5-6 scraps of fish added. It was pathetic. The jambalaya did no better. It was served without any shrimp either and was accompanied by a twice baked potato that had looked like it was baked twice about three different times. Complaints to the waitress went unnoticed and unattended. Such a pity......I used to love this place but after the episode last night, have decided there are too many good restaurants in this area to waste my money on this place.
