“Fisherman's Wharf, Destin, FL”
Reviewed August 7, 2008

A disappointment. We were seated on the patio with no contingency plan for the impending rain. My husband was hit in the back with an umbrella that blew off the adjacent table. A wait staff person refused to seat our party underneath a partial awning that would have given us some protection from the rain, but did seat a family there who arrived after we did. When the cloudburst arrived, we grabbed our drinks, ran inside the restaurant and stood among tables of patrons eating their dinner, until management could find tables for us. Two hours after arriving at the restaurant, our food arrived - the fish was lukewarm, the baked potato and vegetables were cold and the hamburger was charred and cripsy black. The manager offered a 15% discount. I won't be back, nor will I recommend this restaurant to others.

“Good food, good atmosphere for family”
Reviewed July 16, 2008

After looking into the Back Porch because of the beach view, but knowing the wait would be lengthy, we decided on it's sister restaurant Fisherman's Wharf and were glad we did. Food was very good, fresh from the gulf (they will even cook your catch for the day), and reasonably priced. You can sit inside w/AC or outside to see Destin Harbor and the fishing boats. We sat inside and service was great. Will most likely be back if we come again, but will try Pompano Joes/Back Porch if we can make it early enough. Both had long waits at 8pm. Restaurants ideally need to have a combination of good food and good atmosphere to succeed, and Fisherman's Wharf had both. Did not feel like a tourist trap at all. Very pleased.

“Plenty of food but not that great”
Reviewed July 11, 2008

We ate at the Fisherman's wharf after some friends told us they loved the place. I had the Grouper with crab and shrimp on top. It was really salty. I could eat the topping but not the grouper. I ordered peel and eat shrimp for my son, but when it came out it was really spicy and he could not eat it. It really should say in the menu that it is spicy. My husband had a huge fried sampler and he said it was pretty good, so maybe I just got the wrong thing.

“best food we had”
Reviewed July 3, 2008

went there cause another place had a two hour wait, came here and was able to get in bar area at booth in about 5 min, the food was super and we have eaten all over the gulf coast, this was some of the best, order the seafood platter, or steamed oysters on half shell.

“Take a sweater!”
Reviewed June 28, 2008

Restaurant would have been better if we could have enjoyed meal instead of shivering. The a/c had just been replaced and obviously they didn't know how to turn up the thermostat. We complained and so did another party but to no avail. Won't be going back; there are restaurants that are just as good in Destin that value their customers' comfort over their own.
