Not the kind of hotel we usually stay at, and truthfully when we walked into the lobby I didn't want to stay there, but figured it was only for two nights since we were in town for a family function not a vacation. After being there for a few hours, hearing the history, and exploring the hotel I absolutely fell in love with it. The lobby is very old Florida, colors are bright and it's beautifully decorated, there is always music from the 1930s or maybe the 40s playing in the background, not loud, just loud enough that if you listen and look around you can imagine how glorious it must have been filled with people in the 30s and 40s laughing, dancing and enjoying their summer vacation. The rooms are impeccable, never have I stayed in a more immaculate hotel. No carpeting, just beautiful hardwood floors everywhere. A terrific complimentary breakfast is served in the lobby every morning and the front porch is a beautiful place to people watch, have a drink or just relax. You are steps away from great nightlife, terrific shopping and delicious food. A car is needed to get to the beach but a shuttle bus is also available. This is a wonderful hotel with a history to match. No, there is no room service and no one puts chocolates on your pillow or turns down your bed, but the feeling you come away with will last much longer. Would definitely stay there again.
P.S. Great shopping right outside the door at The Earth Collection.

We arrived in MIami and drove to delray due to our friend's recommendation and i am glad we went there. We didn't book any hotel thought it would be nice to drive around and choose what we like and we drove pass this hotel. Such a Great location, nice old and well kept hotel, very cute and well maintained. We just loved it there. Comfortable bed,air con a lil bit too loud but it didn't bother us much. We can just walk around in the evening and in the morning go to the beach club by Delray beach. We had to extend our stay because it was just relaxing there!!!

My family (two adults and three children) spent four nights at the Colony Hotel. We chose this hotel over the Seagate based in part on Trip Advisor reviews.

We were not disappointed. The rooms are very spacious and well decorated (albeit boldly: orange walls, vibrant fabrics, etc.) My wife and I had a very sizeable room, and down the hall our kids had a two bedroom suite with a shared bathroom between the rooms. This is a great room configuration for families traveling with (older +10) children.

The staff was very helpful and the lobby really did have an old Florida feel. But be warned-- this is not a cookie-cutter hotel. There were some quirks and at times the lobby didn't feel quite lively, but the value was very compelling, and if you're the type who like historic hotels (but a comfortable bed), you won't be disappointed.

The beach club was a huge hit, and while we were concerned about the proximity of the club it was a quick trip and we never felt like it was an inconvenience. Moreover, the meals served at the club were great. Cabanas were free and the beach was perfect.

We would definitely stay here again.

Good morning,

Me and my girlfriend went to Delray beach trip and we decided not to book hotel in advance first time and we had a great experience. We been traveling a lot in last 2 years so we have good experiences about hotels and atmospheric. So that night we were just sitting in Boyton Beach Parking lot and searching about hotel in Delray Beach. Finally found this and online it was showing $123/per night but we decide to call them and they offer us $99/per night. I was like nice..We got there and the hotel was on great spot. I was right next to all the shops, great cubs bars and restaurants. Must to do is take their elevator/Lift it from 1929 or something. Its so cool. Our room was on the other side so it was very quite. Hope we weren't noisy for other people. lol so and then we went out that night..just amazing place .so many people just enjoying and having fun. We decided to go back again soon. Next day they provided break-fast it was ok but for $99 i am not expecting more plus free parking. After breakfast they told us you can go to beach at Cabana Club house because it is their property. After we went there ..Just unbelievable the beach was gorgeous and beautiful plus it was private..the place just amaze us..it was right moment i gave my girlfriend promise ring. We had a so much fun. You can walk along the beach all the way back to west Palm beach and come back..beautiful house along the cost...Just absolutely nice..I would def recommend people to go there.

Hope you have a fun...!

We got lucky and booked this at the last minute at the summer special rate of $99 - having to cancel our Hilton Gardens reservation. What a great switch!!! A friend recommended the Colony and she was on point. Charming and unique- Casablanca style lobby - friendly service, nice complimentary breakfast, the bathrooms very roomy and walking distance to wonderful bars and restraunts. My only regret was not having a chance to go to thier Cabana club at the beach.

My mom passed so off to hot, humid Florida in August. Being from SoCal...we were not used to this humidity. We parked in the hotel parking lot (free), got out and immediately were soaked by sweat. We walked through the hotel to the desk were the whole first floor is open air, no a/c and the air moved around by ceiling fans. The staff were great and not too sure how they do it but they must be used to it. We took the original staff operated elevator to our floor and when that door opened....the whole floor is central a/c! They have a great hot/cold (free) breakfast and the coffee is better than Starbucks. I can understand maintaining the historical ambience of the hotel's character but they would probably have more bar business if they put some a/c in and misters on the patio but all in all, after a couple of days we kinda got used to it. All in all, the staff was great and the character of the hotel maintains intact.

Room Tip: Superior King room on 2nd floor away from the elevator

We stayed for a night on Saturday in August 2012 - Great location, wonderful lobby and original caged elevator (although no A/C in the lobby and bar area so it's a bit toasty)
Super friendly service. Room had some original furniture as well as modern flat screen tv etc. Solid original hardwood floors. Breakfast was included and although limited selection, tasty enough. This is a cool, laid back hotel to stay at.
