NIce setting, packed restuarant, but the food?? I had the mussels which my bar neighbors raved about. They came overcooked and sweet? It was supposed to be a anise cream sauce, but way to sweet. I sat at the bar alone and they were really busy but kitchen didn't meet my standard.

The happy hour tapas are of poor quality. Greasy, tiny garlic shrimp, store bought hummus and sad meatballs are not worth a second try. The wait staff is not even familiar enough with the menu to describe it. I would pass on this spot and try SoLita, City Oyster or La Cigale for excellent happy hour appetizers, drinks and dinner.

We went on $4 tapas Tuesday. The place was crazy, we were seated inside. This restaurant is dark, I would suggest the flashlight application on you phone so you can see the menu. We waited about 10 minutes before we saw a server, after I went to see the hostess and find out if anyone was waiting on our table.
All that being said, the food was very good. We had 14 dishes among four of us. The anchovies were the best, but the smoked fish tapas was excellent also. I had a caipirinha, which was only okay. The fact that the tapas came out was explained by the waiter and expected. Noise level was pretty high.

Delicious food, great service, great wines, reasonable prices. Highly recommended.
The waitress was very helpful in selecting dishes and wines, which were half priced.

It seems like every other Mexican or Cuban Restaurant advertises itself as"Spanish" cuisine. A few offer "tapas". But they are not Spanish and the Tapas are a few of their basic appetizers . Now, comes Ceviche. This is the real thing. If you have been to a Tapas bar in Madrid, this place will seem like home. Except the food here is much better. We have been here several times, and have tried most of the tapas on the very extensive tapas menu. We have not been disappointed in any of them. The mushrooms are a combination of at least 3 kinds, the spinach comes with figs, honey and garlic. The chofizo al brandy was the best I've ever had. We ordered Sangria and the big glasses were almost overflowing. At $8 to $14 a plate this is not cheap, but you get your money's worth. We had 5 plates, and ended up taking home 3 boxes. We now plan to eat here every week. The recipes are really Spanish, so this might be an adventure for those that think Taco Bell is Spanish. It is hard to believe that this is actually the southern outpost of a small chain. A word of caution, the valet parking is in the back and the driveway is before the restaurant; miss it and you are going around the block.
