I love Wright By the Sea - it has everything that you need in one of the most magical locations - close to everything and very private - gorgeous beach and sunrises - excellent staff and friendly, friendly and kind service. Wonderful place to stay! I return frequently.

Room Tip: Love room 15 for a single traveler.

My wife, two kids and I stayed here and found the location to be nice but the accommodations to be very dated. I didn't find being in the room or the hotel (which felt more like a motel) to be that enjoyable.

It was nice to have a kitchen, but the room was so dated and old that I would have preferred a newer hotel without the kitchen.

The bed was not terribly comfortable and the pull out sofa was not suitable for sleeping on.

We just returned from spending 4 nights here and, although we had never been there before, and are always hesitant to believe all the reviews, we really enjoyed ourselves. I agree that the rooms are a little dated, but if all the furniture and fixtures were updated, we probably wouldn't be able to afford to stay there! The grounds and the beach were perfect, the heated pool spotless, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and hard working. Finding out that the washer and dryer available were free with detergent included, was another pleasant surprise.
It was nice to experience Florida the way it was years ago, and we will definitely be returning and recommending it to our friends and family. So nice to have found paradise in Delray Beach!

Room Tip: We enjoyed our ground floor room, just steps to the pool and beach.

My wife and I spent 2 nights here following a week cruise out of Fort Lauderdale (about a 30-40 min drive). We enjoyed it tremendously. Yes it is a "throw back" to another era in hospitality....the 50's or 60's perhaps. The owners clearly take great pride in their property. The rooms are not Marriott "slick" (others might say a bit dated), but they are very comfortable and clean and the location directly on the ocean cannot be beat, on a quieter stretch of Delray Beach. We took advantage of the kitchenette in our studio accommodation, went to nearby Public's and picked up some pre-made shishkabobs and grilled them on the common area gas grill...very relaxing and "old school".

We would definitely return again....hopefully next time for a longer visit! If you want a modern chain experience with all the bells and whistles perhaps this will not be your cup of tea. If looking for a relaxing change of pace with a comfortable family feeling this could be for you!

Room Tip: We were on a ground floor studio away from the beach (#118). While not a direct view of the ocean w...

Unfortunately, we do not agree with most of the reviews. I will say the location and grounds are spectacular. Not the same for our room. We had a studio which was overloaded with dated furniture. Could hardly move around the bed without moving furniture out of the way. No need for a club chair as who would stay in the room to watch TV and sit in that chair...just not necessary. We found cockroaches in the kitchen drawers and told the front desk and received just a reply that they sprayed and that is what we have here in Florida. The ceiling tiles in the area outside the bathroom were stained and not hung up in the slots. Just old and not up to the status of #1. Maybe other rooms are not as bad but we will not be returning.

Just returned home from our first stay,at this hotel from the past.We spent 10 days at this little gem of a hotel/apartment enclave and were so enamored by the place we booked the same 10 days for next year. Not the fanciest of places, but who cares. The room was charming, clean, quiet and a stone's throw from a beautiful quiet beach. Our room came with a fully equipped kitchen, full size fridge, microwave which allowed us to eat in breakfasts, some lunches and even bring in prepared foods and leftovers for dinners. There is a Publix supermarket just over the inter coastal,as well as an excellent chinese takeout Hunan Wok,which even delivers. The staff was extremely friendly as were the guests, most of whom appeared to be repeaters. There is also a free washer/dryer on the premises which came in handy. The pool was spotless as was the entire resort, and the pool heated to 88 degrees.I now know why The TA reviewers love this place

Room Tip: If you want a studio, only 5 to be had ask for room #132, an end room with 3 exposures.

Wright's is a rare find, indeed! We've been enjoying our stays here for a good
many years, and it's always the same...pristine, comfortable, quiet, reliable, attractive
and good value. Not many apartment-type hotels are located literally 'on the beach',
between the coastal road and the ocean...Wright's is an exception. Walk out of your
apartment (on 2-stories only), across the immaculate lawns, past the heated swimming
pool, and you're on the huge sandy beach which seems to go on forever. And a real
bonus, car parking is on-site and free!

Room Tip: Ask for ground floor if you wish to avoid the outside steps up to the second level.
