This is not a luxury resort by any strech of the imagination. Actually, they use the term resort very losely.
Our one bedroom was adequate for two but cramped for four. The kids slept on the couch that open into a small bed. The kitchen looked new with good appliances and there is a small fridge and a small freezer. Plenty good for a week.
Do not expect daily cleaning of your room. You have to call them and make arrangements for $10 a cleaning. Amazingly, the reception is only open 9 to 5 (and closed on Sundays!) so we ended calling them for what we needed on our cell phone from the beaches!
They did provide very good beach towels which you can exchange for clean ones on Tuesdays and Thursdays so no need to bring your own.
The pool is a joke (unless you have toddlers) but with so many nice beaches around you should not spend any time there.
The rooms share a balcony (like some motels) so don't expect much privacy unless yours is at each end of the building.
The wi fi was good in our room and free of charge (a surprise since they charge for a lot of other things). We did not get much help from the office staff when we asked questions about the area. Actually the one in charge is quite unfriendly and rude. But again this is not your typical resort with a concierge service.
The best part of this place is the location which we found extremely practical. Not only you are right on Ocean Blvd across the beach but also at the intersection with Atlantic Ave where you have more restaurants, bars and shops than you can shake a stick at. Also, you have 2 excellent restaurants 100 yards down the street (Boston and Luna Rosa) in addition to a fast food joint. On the other hand, the street can be noisy late into the night so you'd better be tired when you come in at night.
We gave this place a 3 star rating based on the above however we don't know how much they charge as we came in on a timeshare exchange.

Room Tip: Definately choose the second floor or you will be staring at parked cars anytime you sit out to have...

We stayed in a room directly facing the ocean. You had to cross a very busy street (A1-A) to get to the beach. It is a little touristy,so if you are looking for quiet, don't go here. Our unit was a little small&outdated, but we didn't spend much time there. We had some ant issues in the kitchen that was a little annoying. Cleaning crew was non-existent. Overall,we thought it was ok,we would go back for the location.

The location for this property is excellent. It's right across from the beach, and just a few minute walk to Atlantic Avenue.
The service is adequate, however don't bother asking for another soap or change for the laundry, or expect salt and pepper in the rooms, it's pretty barebones.
The pull out coach could use a thicker mattress as it's not very comfortable.
Location makes up for it all though if you want to be at the beach.
There is parking there which is great!

Staff was nice and helpful, the rooms were just old, outdated and very small. not any amenities like at a regular resort, you have to pay to use the washer/ dryer. But on the up side, the location is pretty good, you can see the beach from the room. The kitchen is pretty functionable. would recommend dover house if you just want a small beachy condo type place that's close to the beach.

Delray is one of Florida's nicest towns and Dover House is beautifully sited right across from the ocean and a lovely wide sandy beach. While it is a short walking distance to Atlantic Ave. main commercial area, the DH encircles a well landscaped area devoid of flashy shops and businesses........looks a bit like a country club. The units are very clean and well equipped, if a bit spartan (more like an office decor but serviceable).. the staff is excelllent and very accommodating. Consider bringing or buying beach chairs since the beach concession rents lounges and umbrellas at $10 per hr. or $30 per day.
Will definitely return.

I have stayed at the Dover House in the past and I was so happy that I booked it again in September. The service was excellent and the staff went out of their way to help with everything. The location is the best! Love the shuttle service to downtown and can walk to the beach. Wonderful restaurants within walking distance and I can't wait to go back again....

I stayed at Dover House once before about 8 years ago and although it was a nice place at that time, they have really fixed the place up and moderized it. The Delrey Beach area has really taken off with fine dining, the strip has become one of the hot designation for night life. Dover House being about 1 mile from the strip, maintains its quiet nature. This is not one of the tourist trap areas, like so many of the florida resorts I have stayed at over the years.
