We stop here for a meal every time we're anywhere near the area and sit outside on the deck for a great view of the water. Dishes are a little high-priced for what you get, but the food is always tasty. We've always had wonderful and friendly service. You can't beat the atmosphere!

Generally waterfront restaurants do not serve great food because the ambience is enough to get them by, but in the case of Deck 84 in Delray Beach, on the intercoastal waterway, the food and service are exellent. We arrived by boat and even though we were a half hour early for our reservation the hostess made arrangements so we would not have to wait. Appetizers of shrimp flatbread and conch chowder were very good. The conch fritters, a favorite of ours that we always enjoy in the Bahamas were exellent. They rivaled the very best we have had in the Bahamas which is served at Baker's Bay on Buana Cay. These conch fritters were clearly the best we have ever had in the U.S. They were crisp, not mushy and contained 3 times the amount of shrimp and conch as most conch fritters. Service was great and very timely an our meals arrived shortly after appetizers, leaving just the right amount of time between servings. The grilled chicken sandwich was very good, with a toasted bun as were the salads of grilled chicken salad as well as the harvest salad, with think sliced pears, carmelized walnuts, etc. The mahi mahi dinners were also very good, although it would have been nice to have a little larger cut of fish, but it was grilled to perfection with good seasoning. The bar area and seating create a great ambience for the restaurant. Very Florida-Bahamian environment and a stroll down Atlantic avenue after dinner is a great way to work off a little of the food, visiting art galleries, and perhaps an afterdinner drink. It is just a couple blocks west of Deck 84 with music, dancing, bars, shops etc. If you go by boat, it is a good idea to call the restaurant and the dockmaster will try to plan for space for the size of your boat for your arrival. Enjoy a wonderful "Floridian" evening at Deck 84.
