This is the first time we have eaten at Tryst. Upon arrival (7:30 PM reservation) we were immediately seated after being asked if we wanted a table in the "garden" or in the bar. We chose the bar because it appeared that the outdoor garden allowed smoking. The atmosphere in the bar gives you the feeling of a NYC pub ... not English or Irish, just the "Pub" feeling.
The menu has great great selections with imagination. All four of us ordered different entrees ... steak, salad, mussels and fish & chips. Everyone was more than satified with the portions, flavor and presentation.
Our server was great. She brought a sample of a beer and wine that the table had questions about. She provided helpful suggestions and accommadating and un-hurried service.
It was relatively quiet when we arrived and table conversation was easy. By the time we left (10:30) the place was in full swing and the noise level rose to the point that conversation was at a shouting pitch.
In spite of the smoking and noise level we are definately planning to return to explore the rest of the menu selections.

Arrived early for dinner around 6, place was empty, hostess was inexperienced but nice. We sat inside for the first time, as it seemed as might rain. We had a server we have had before, menu knowledgeable, but failed to tell us the specials, I had to ask, since that is where I usually choose from. My Martini(s) were ok and the fish dip Appetizer was just ok, for sure was expecting better something unexpected, different but didn't happen. Grouper with Risotto was very very good. My husband had the Filet and he was happy with it. Dessert was not good we didn't eat it and manager took it off. We finished with a "Cappuccino" but was more of a Latte. All in all I think they are cutting corners and it shows. Sad it was a Great place, time to move on to the next Atlantic Av gem

Nice selection of beers, friendly staff and fresh tasting fish tacos. Very nice lunch.

We sat at bar and bartender/waiter gave us tastings of beers prior to placing and order.

Has an old whiskey tavern feel to it but menu is fresh and exciting.

Fish tacos, grilled fish sandwich, squash pannini, very interesting menu layout. Creative menu with yesterday's soup, recession special (chefs special with free drink)....hudsen valley foie gras....
When we were there there was no crowd and one waiter. Dan {the server) efficiently got four tables that filled up at the same time...all served.
Overall worth the stop.

Such a cool little place - great atmosphere.

Be adventurous in your beer selections, allow the staff to make suggestions. Cheese plate is delicious.

Enjoyable, different, and trendy.
