“Overall a great experience”
Reviewed December 26, 2013

This was my first visit to the Breakers. We booked an oceanfront room for Christmas 2013. Overall our experience was very good (I would say excellent except there were a few annoying things). The unit itself and the outside patio are very large. We had 7 people over for dinner and it was quite comfortable. The location of this unit and the property is just extraordinary. Having a private beach was just wonderful. It wasn't quite "beach" weather but just being able to have that easy access both during the day and at night was awesome. The people who work there are very friendly and responsive.
A couple of negatives: the units definitely are in need of some TLC and a bit of a face lift. The cranks on the windows would not turn (just worn out) and the screen in the master bedroom kept falling out of the window. While the unit was clean, it definitely is outdated. The counterspace in the kitchen is VERY small. Difficult to accommodate cooking for 7. Also, the stove was not working when we arrived. It is very old and also should just be replaced with a modern stove.

But, I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it. However, just go in knowing that you are not going to be staying at a modern resort.

After going to the Breakers for the last 10 years this year was the last time. Got there and the two bedroom unit was dirty. Not up to date. Kitchen in bad shape. The icing on the cake, in the evening we saw a rat in the living room. Left hotel after 2 nights to find a fantastic hotel right beside the breakers.

Great spot on the beach. As others have noted the rooms are quite large and clean, but the property could use a bit of a facelift. Rooms were perfectly clean and comfortable.
Only complaints:
1) We got no maid service at all on one day. We got back late, and had to go sneaking into the laundry to get some fresh towels. The rest of the stay we had proper service, though some days it was really late. They don't seem too organized.
2) The "breakfast" is, with all due respect, a complete joke. It consists of the cheapest possible mass produced foodservice pastries and donuts in a refrigerator that are really really bad. No cereal, no fruit, no yogurt, nothing but rock hard cold bagels and pastries. On the positive side they have trays set up for you with an insulated coffee pot, so it's easy to fill up your coffee and bring it back to your room which was nice, and they do have orange juice. We ended up going to the store to stock up on some breakfast food as what they provided was inedible.
Overall the stay was very pleasant and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Room Tip: Try to get a corner room right on the water edge.

It is a perfect get away. You are treated like friends & family. The rooms are clean & big. There is a huge seperate bedroom, living room, dining area, kitchen & bath. The place is super quiet. The kingsize bed was comfy & not hard. The private beach is wonderful. The beach was not crowded. There were no more than 6 people on the beach at a time. Lots of shells!! Lounge chairs at the beach are free. They're not at the other hotels in the area. Wifi is also free. Breakfast consists of orange juice, coffee, bagels, and a variety of donuts & danishes. We went to Publix, less than a mile away, & got bacon & eggs, to finish out our breakfast for the rest of the stay. Also, the kitchen is fully equiped. We saved quite a bit of money eating lunch in. We ate dinner out. I recommend the 2 Georges, & the Whales Rib, both in Deerfield (not too far). There is also a pool table & books for your enjoyment. Laundry machines & detergents are all free. The pool was clean, & well maintained. Plenty of free parking. We have stayed at othe more expensive hotels in the area, but the Delray Breakers on the Ocean is now our hotel of choice.

The hotel is in an excellent location, if you love watching the ocean as I do, ask for the FRONT view; The rooms are clean, the bathrooms also clean.
This is not the Marriot so do not expect any luxury rooms, the kitchen is a bit wear off, but it has everything you need to spend your week or weekend, just bring your own food, they even have salt and pepper!
The sofa bed in the leaving room is a full size so easily can sleep 2, the bed in master room is 2 beds together, but pretty comfortable, you don't feel the middle so it's actually a King size bed, or can be 2 single beds.
The staff is very friendly, they come every day with new towels and clean all the room, the kitchen and all.
It was great for us, and the view, the beach all is excellent
I didn't give an excellent rating, because the kitchen cabinets need a bit upgrading the doors fall and there were some little ants all over dinning table and kitchen counter so we have to be careful with the food and not leaving it outside.
Other than that Love it!!! AND WILL RECOMMEND 1,000 TIMES

I choose this motel based on the other reviews, which were right on. Yes, this is not the Ritz - however, my room #21 was a huge one bedroom apartment with a king-size bed, large living room/dining room and well equipped kitchen with a full size refrigerator. Very clean. Friendly and helpful staff. I had fabulous views of the beach and ocean from the second floor. The beach is just a few steps from your room - and it is a quiet beach in which you could relax or walk for miles. If you have someone staying with Palm Partners, it is minutes away. If you really wanted to get away and enjoy the beach and relax, this would be the place. I will return!

Room Tip: Ask for a second floor room to get great views of the beach and ocean - but you do have to climb ste...

It maybe alittle out of date but we were not looking for the Ritz. Very comfortable, fully stocked and what it did not have they would get it or fix it immediately. My daughter and son in law did their vow renewal and they [the staff] were so accommodating. The rooms are immaculate and the grounds were beautiful and it was a hop skip and a jump to the beach. Would recommend again and again and would stay again and again.
