“best breakfast spread in Deland”
Reviewed June 2, 2014

Go early or prepare to wait for a table. Breakfast is so popular that people have breakfast for lunch. Favorites are sausage, sausage gravy, biscuits. No, I think it's the pancakes. Well, maybe it's the French toast. If you want lunch, go by 11:30 or prepare for a wait. The decor is small hometown decor ( a little duct tape works well on torn upholstery.) If you take note of the big SUVs and stretch cab pickups on the parking lot, you know working folks love to fill up here.

“Home Cooking”
Reviewed May 25, 2014

If ever in the town of DeLand Florida be sure to go to The Potato Patch on the main drag just a little south from the beautiful downtown. There you will be greeted by the frendly owners Doug and Lil. The down home cooking will fill your belly for sure. Get there early to be sure u get your seat either at the bar or in their dinning room. Just delish!!!

“Glad we did”
Reviewed March 14, 2014 via mobile

We've been meaning to stop for a while and I'm glad we finally did. The service was great and the food was better. The only downfall is they are a cash-only establishment but we were prepared. Definitely will return

“Interesting Place - Good Food”
Reviewed March 9, 2014

We went with friends from Deland who said it was their favorite place for breakfast or brunch. It is relatively small, you're likely to wait to be seated, and it can be crowded and noisy. But, the food is good. Our group had two egg breakfasts with home fries and a pancake (choice of: toast, biscuit or a pancake), Eggs Benedict, and a sliced pork sandwich with BBQ sauce. The breakfast food was all cooked to order and well prepared. Service is friendly and attentive, but the wait for the food to be served was close to 15-20 minutes because of how busy they were at the time. The pancakes are very good. My wife said here home fries were perfect. Prices are perhaps at the higher end of reasonable - the two egg breakfast is $5.75, the eggs benedict was $9.25 and my sandwich with chips and a pickle spear was $7.25. Fries are are extra with your sandwich. Parking is somewhat limited and the wait at the time we were there (11:30 on a Sunday morning) was OK, but I would guess it can be out the door at other times. They are closed on Mondays. Open from 6 am to 2pm on Tues - Sat and from 7 am to 2 pm on Sunday. Breakfast is served all day. Mostly a working class - regulars type of place. Overall, well prepared food and reasonable value for the quality and quantity of the food.
