My spouse and I like to bring our well behaved, leashed dog for a walk in the arboretum. The plants are well marked. We usual stumble upon volunteers enjoying their labors of maintaining the Arboretum.

Truly a hidden oasis and a calming place to spend some time, relax and walk around and meander the walkways, just a peaceful and beautiful place to be. Try not to miss it if you are in the area for a while

Small Arboretum off of Hillsboro in Deerfield beach With lovely varieties of palm trees and other interesting foliage including breadfruit. Nice meandering walkway needs serious upkeep. The condition of this park needs to be improved. Many identification signs are missing off of the trees. It was also disconcerting to find three big teenagers who were leaning on our car who actually had to told to get off the car when we approached. No staff was seen on this Sunday and the building was locked.

This arboretum can be enjoyed by people of all ages. There is an outdoor exercise course that runs through the arboretum, great for all ages as each exercise is offered for three different levels. Or just wander along the path. You will come to a lovely waterfall. Look closely and you will see turtles sunning themselves on the rocks. There are benches throughout the area and fabulous shaded areas to meditate. Although one can still hear the sound of the traffic from Hillsboro Blvd, if you really try hard, you can allow the waterfall and breeze of the leaves swaying in the breeze to drown out the noise.

Don't rely on the GPS to get you there. It is on Hillsboro, just west of J&J market on the north side of Hillsboro. There is no sign on the corner. Just make the next right after the market. It will be on your right. The walk is not difficult. There are exercise stations along the way, to use or not. The Japanese restful gardens are great. The variety of palms is amazing. The whole area needs a bit of TLC, but it is a beautiful [lace to visit for an afternoon.
