“Still love it here!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 10, 2010

We returned again to Perry's for a week on the beach. I have to say I have never found a beach place that had better grounds and pools anywhere!! We first stayed at Perry's in 1986. After that we stayed there many many years. A couple years ago we felt the people running the place weren't the same quality we had become to enjoy. Then this year I felt like the Old Perry's was nearly back. The North Tower is the best, My only complaint was they do need to purchase better mattresses and pillows. But we found the remodelled rooms very nice and the grounds again were well cared for. The staff was very friendly and the donuts still delicious. This place has 2 outdoor pools and 1 indoor so many times you will be in a pool with hardly anyone else. The beach is beautiful there, you can even buy a hot dog right on the beach and have lunch. It was just an awesome vacation and so relaxing. If you gave up on them come back again as we did. We love it there!

We have been coming to Perry's for 50 years, have introduced our children and grandchildren to it now. Our visit was fine, however, we did have a few complaints. No air conditioning in the lounge, towels very thin and lounge chairs were never wiped off. I'm sure these things will be corrected in time for our next visit.

This year was our 7th year vacationing at Perry's. Although we enjoyed the aminities, especially the heated indoor pool/hot tub and fast elevators down to the beach, I was MAJORLY DISSAPPOINTED with the room this time. First, we had difficulty opening the door to the room, and then we couldn't get out of the room until my husband used some serious "Hulk" force on the door. Once outside the room again, we couldn't close the door, which delayed us from the beach. We eventually called the front desk and they sent a maintenance guy--who arrived fairly quickly and readjusted hinges/replaced door parts. Worked fine after that, but our neighbors, who apparently had the same door issues must not have called for repair because we listened to them slamming their doors open/shut our entire stay. The thing that most dissappointed me was the pigeon poop on the oceanfront balcony. I could deal with the old, wooden porch charis, but not the massive amounts of pigeon poop that was all along the railing of the balcony, under the chairs and heaped in the corner (I'm uploading photos). At night, at least 10-15 pigeons nested in the corner of our balcony and made noise. Had I known that the "free upgrade" to a 6th floor room with a full kitchen would cause me to lose the use of the oceanfront balcony that I paid $138/night for, I would have declined the upgrade. We couldn't sit on the balcony the entire trip, let alone put our beach towels out there to dry! Stay away from those 6th floor rooms----Poop Palace!!! As has been our usual experience, our bathroom was clean--no mildew anywhere & the linens were clean and the pillows were fluffy. Staff is friendly enough--we were always greeted nicely. However, the room itself had a mildew smell that I believe was caused by the old, dirty, damp carpet. Also, under the beds could use a thorough cleaning - vacuuming out. My daughter's sippy cup fell and rolled under the bed. I was so grossed out that I didn't bother to wash/scald the cup, we just tossed it in the trash and bought a new one. Our television required a few presses to get it to turn on---it would spontaneously turn off. Maid service was rather slow and the language barrier was a challenge when requesting items that she forgot to replinish. Parking can be a nightmare after dinner time, so plan to use the overflow lot across the street (very dark and unsecured). Best to use the north tower's parking deck (more visible from the hotel & lighted) , if you can find a spot--park on the top floor ------it's just a short walk down to the indoor pool area to access the south tower suites. We will consider staying again next year, but I compiled names of a few newer hotels that we passed by in the area & I will be researching those on this web site for value/cleanliness. I'd still recommend Perry's to family/friends, but I'd certainly advise them to avoid the 6th floor "pigeon poop" balcony rooms, to avoid contact with the carpet---other than your shoes, and to check under the beds.

Perry's is an older resort, but is generally well kept and clean. The rooms are large and have amenities such as fridges, stoves, cooking utensils and such. A great value for the price. The Tiki Bar is fantastic and the other resort activities are also good. The beach access is absolutely beautiful! The resort has great cabins that are huge and pet friendly. Our only glitch was an a/c unit that conked out, but the maintenance staff had it fixed in a couple of hours with no problem. A great excuse to hit the beach. If you don't need a lot of upscale amenities and want a great value, this is the place. We'll be back.

The Staff were rude, room was stuffy/dirty mold/mildew all over tub & ceiling in bathroom, toilet made loud noises, uncomfortable bed, very old furniture & bedding/curtains, still stuck in 1960's, the only best thing was the ocean view, but this did not make up for such a awful place to stay. I don't care how cheap it is, it is just not worth it... go somewhere else, just don't stay at the place. Nothing is clean!!!

This is a great place for a family to stay. There are three pools, with one heated indoors. My kids loved this pool. The view of the ocean is great, at least from the north tower rooms. Our room was large with a kitchen, dining area, couch, and two queen beds. It was very clean, and the beds were firm and comfortable. Also, the doughnuts were delicious. They are free in the dining room, or $3.00 a dozen to go. Winn-Dixie is straight across the street. They plan activities for the kids (although we didn't do them). No loud noise while we were there either.
