Silver Beach Club
Reviewed February 5, 2009

We just returned from a one month stay at Silver Beach Club in Daytona Beach Florida. This was a timeshare exchange. We would like to share our experience. We were originally given a unit on the first floor but had read reviews which indicated the first floor faced the parking lot. We called the resort and asked to have a higher floor unit. They accommodated us to unit 207, corner unit. We arrived around 9pm and were greeted by a courteous and helpful staff. We even checked the unit first and were pleased. It is a spacious oceanfront unit with 2 baths , 2 tv’s . The unit was very clean. The kitchen was adequately well stocked as we cook most of our meals there. The bed is a double ( they say queen size, not!!), but ok comfortable. The resort is older and there is need for updating. While everything was very clean, some appliances are very old (but they work). Everything worked well in our unit, no problems...The carpet needs major cleaning and there were no balcony furniture. We appreciated the kindness and hardworking staff, the beautiful pool and spa (very clean and perfect temperature) the spaciousness of the unit, the view, all that was important to us. Housekeeping did a mid week cleaning and linen change. We walked everywhere and used the trolley to get around as we didn’t have a car for the entire month, and everything worked fine. We met many fun vacationers, the weather was quite cool for a few days, we had long walks on the incredible beach. We left just before the races and spring break began. All in all it was a wonderful vacation. We rate this resort a 3 stars. Thank you to the entire staff.

This is not a resort! It is an older hotel that just needs a little TLC. We did not experience any type of bugs but the mattress was in need of updating. We had a very big 2 bedroom and 2 bath room. The kitchen had all the supplies we needed and the air worked great. The furniture on the second floor balcony outside our room was in need of some new cushions and a little paint on the trim. My biggest complaint is the staff! They needed a little help with people skills. We did feel like we always bothered them and the counting of towels and wash clothes left you feeling like a thief. They never seemed ot have enough wash cloths. You are required to bring dirty ones to the fourth floor for exchange. Also, you are required to take trash out as well. They only clean one day during the week. They did have a very nice grill for cooking and the activities director was very kind. I am not sure that I would stay here again only because it is a little run down. I do not stay in the Hilton ever but friendly staff goes a long with me. Day after Day they never seemed to be any happier.

Staff friendly and helpful. Carl maintenance man very friendly and helpful. We did experience bed bugs but we moved to another room and everything was fine. The staff washed and dried our clothes to rid us of the problem. It is common now in alot of lplaces where so many people stay. Right on the beach nice big very clean pool. We were disappointed because we own Crown line with RCI this was a big step down.

The front view of the resort looks great. But once you go around the building you will see that the building is in very much need of maintenance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The elevator is very small, the doors are old and rusted. The stove was not working properly. We had a two bedroom unit and the beds were not queen size as advertised. We will not stay here again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We've stayed at the Silver Beach Club a few times. It a great place for families with children under 16. No it is not fancy, but it is convenient and clean. The pool is large and the kiddie pool is right beside it. They have fun things, like make your own sundae, pool games competion, pizza party and BINGO. My kids loved it all. We live busy lives and just wanted to relax on the beach and pool. This is the perfect spot for that. I like how the larger units overlook the pool,(you can see the ocean, a side view) so you can go on the balcony and call to your family in the pool to come up to the room. The smaller units are ocean front.
We'd walk the mile along the beach to the boardwalk.
If you want to get into the craziness of Orlando ... it's about an hour and half away.

I wish the had an up to date gameroom, exercise bike, treadmill and a few computers to use.
The office closes around11pm and there is security, but no maintenance at that time that I know of.

The 2 bedroom unit we were given had a broken dishwasher, broken stove and no AC. Our room was over 80 degrees. Staff leaves at night.

This is an older property with maintenance issues. The staff leaves at night. Good luck if you stay here and have a problem because you are treated like you are the problem.

The room would have been ok (we did not need the dishwasher or stove) but with no AC it was unbearable.

We left in the middle of the night in the pouring rain to find other accommodations. Security Guard wouldn't even hold open the door while we loaded up our belongings (getting soaking wet during the whole process)
