This is a nice, clean, new restaurant in a great harbor-side location. Daytona has a disproportionate number of lousy restaurants, so Caribbean Jacks is a great find and only a few minutes from the boardwalk area. There is ample indoor and outdoor seating. The deck area features some neat glider booths that your party of four can sway back and forth - that might not be a great idea if you are out drinking. :) Our server was fantastic - very friendly and attentive. The food quality was inconsistent - ranging from OK to great. Portion sizes were generous. Some comments on individual dishes:
1) Bananas Foster dessert: A! Fantastic, four of us split it.
2) Bass Ale Battered Fish: B. Fish was tasty, but batter was soggy. Onion rings were average.
3) Mussels and Sausage: C. Overwhelmingly salty.
4) Crab cakes: B+ Good flavor and lots of crab with little filler
The kids meals were fairly priced and good size. The kids chicken filets were a bit dry and not enjoyable without dipping sauce. The margaritas were tasty - I can tell that this is a great place to share some drinks with your friends. The prices were consistent with the waterfront location - expect to pay $15-$20 and up per adult without alcohol. We'd definitely go to Caribbean Jack's again. Work on the food consistency and it will easily merit an upgrade to five stars.
