After an excessive hiatus, we ventured again to Chez Paul for some fine dining and fellowship. The affable Paul C. was his ever charming self and Momma E. was as feisty as her 93 years would allow. Almost a family affair in the execution of the evenings experience. Other than a couple of insignificant quirks, the epicurean delights, in the usual Chez Paul fashion, arrived at the table. A tidbit of pesto pasta, to start, was followed by a salad tossing of Cesar at table side for two. The others enjoyed an exemplary crock of hot French onion soup with cheese strings that defied gravity. A sorbet break, led to exquisite offerings of scallops in a shell, veal in sauce, filet of beef, and chicken in wine, which was devoured by the patrons. The time passed quickly due to the atmosphere, wine, and cocktails. We finished with Sambuca, compliments of the house. A red rose of lengthy stem was a parting gift to the ladies. Great food and good friends, made for a delightful evening.
