Just stayed here from Monday - Friday with my husband and 13 yr old son. Heres the love part: The location was perfect everything you need is in walking distance and its right on the beach. The lazy river and pools are awesome. We were here in a less busy time, I don't know if it would be as enjoyable if there were a lot of people. There is an arcade and the hotel itself is nice but huge. Now the hate: we originally booked a one bedroom king condo with a sofa bed. The first room we got was a nice room but the bedroom had 2 dbl beds, we asked for a different room and the second room was a king but the room was considerably smaller and so outdated! It was ugly! The bed cover was disgusting! My husband went back down again and said please just give us a decent room! They switched us again this time the room was much better. We were on the 10th floor. The kitchen was nice and fully stocked. The view was beautiful. Not once during our stay did anyone clean our room or bring fresh towels, I don't know if you have to ask. We just did it ourselves and there's a washer and dryer there so we washed our towels. Also, we booked through book it and were told when we got there we would get a $30 gift card. The staff didn't know what we were talking about and finally had some lady come over and say we have to get that from book it which was fine but this is how she put it, "you booked through a third party, you didn't even book through Wyndham, why would you think you would get that through us?" I worked in customer service for many years and that attitude irritated me. We did have to get our cards reset once, but no big deal. One thing I hated was we all had to wear these plastic bands the whole week to use the pool. It just annoyed me. The area can be a little scary especially at night. People were begging us for money when we went out. Was kind of uncomfortable. One time we came out of the elevator to go to our car and there was blood splattered everywhere! All over the floor the walls not big puddles, but blood spray. I can only assume there was a fight there. They cleaned it up fast but that was unnerving, especially for my son. All said and done, it was a nice stay. I don't think I will stay there again as I don't like clean when I'm on vacation.

My entire family stayed here in July and again this September weekend. We all live in the Orlando area and like to occasionally gather at various hotels for family down time. One of the perks of living in Florida! July was MUCH more crowded and pool chairs were hard to come by if you weren't there promptly at 8:00 a.m. September was a bit more manageable, but since this hotel is so HUGE it still was crowded. My main concern this stay was the pool security...just one guard, if any at all. In July we saw security regularly patrolling the pool area, but not his time. Guests are supposed to wear wristbands to identify themselves, but there were large groups that didn't have any on and were never questioned. I personally saw a group of 12, who I knew weren't guests, come up from the beach and invade an entire hot tub, drunk with their cooler of beer. They stayed several hours into the evening, and were quite loud. When the one security guard was notified he did NOTHING. There is a gate from the public beach to the pool area which opens with your room key, but it is very easy to get in with all of the people coming and going. Security should be stationed here. I looked around and didn't even see a sign that said Hotel Guests Only to deter non-guests from entering. People without wristbands need to be questioned. I paid a lot of money for a room, and don't think I should have to share already crowded facilities with non-paying guests. Also, be careful walking around the pool deck. Parts of it badly need to be resurfaced and it is very slippery! This needs to be addressed...major safety concern. Another concern is the STRICT policy of only one parking pass per room. Additional vehicles have to pay to park in the city garage across the street, which is very inconvenient and not a short hike. If you leave your car there overnight you have to inform the garage management, which involves a trip to the office in the bowels of the garage to get an overnight pass. Even though two of our guests were handicapped, the hotel wouldn't give in...even when we offered to pay for an additional one. The desk clerk even suggested that next time we get three separate rooms, which would give us three passes, instead of the large 3 bedroom we rented! Really? That's your solution? One pass per bedroom seems more reasonable, or at least the ability to purchase one. In July the garage was full, but this visit there were tons of open spaces. I don't think one more car would have been an issue. Poor customer service. Our room, which was clean and beautiful, had a few maintenance issues I didn't see last visit...broken sink sprayer, running toilet, off balance washer, leaky shower and a cool, not cold, refrigerator. The pools also had some maintenance issues, and the hot tub that was not working in July still wasn't working in September. All in all this is a beautiful resort, but lacking in customer service, maintenance and security. If you come from out of town keep in mind that Daytona still has some crime issues, so don't venture too far off the Boardwalk area on foot. In July a women was beaten on the Boardwalk directly in front of the hotel resulting in a police chase, and this weekend a 90 year old man died after being carjacked a few blocks away. We walked a couple of blocks north to the 24 hour store and saw homeless people entering the abandoned hotel across the street and a guy passed out on a bench, all within two blocks of Ocean Walk. Taking all this into consideration, Ocean Walk is a beautiful resort with huge pools, game room, indoor mini golf and a really nice gym. A movie theatre, great food and shops are just next door. All ages in our family love it here and we will come back. I just think they could do most of what they do better. They rank WAY below what we consider standard for Wyndham Resorts. Better management, security and customer service is badly needed, Many guests we spoke to in the elevators and around the pool felt the same way. Please listen Wyndham!

This was our second time here, absolutely beautiful! Beautiful pools, rooms are great, the 2 bedroom has a whirlpool tub which is heaven. The negatives: CHECK IN IS HORRENDOUS!! After standing in the line for half an hour we were told our room was not ready and probably would not be ready until after 4:30--this is AFTER check in. They would call our cell phones to let us know. This never happened and I waited in the line again--a room magically came open when I got to the counter. No luggage dollies so we carried everything from our car by hand to the elevators, 13th floor--THE FRONT DESK HAD MISTAKENLY TOLD US THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE HOTEL! So we made the trip down the elevators, across the hotel and to the other side. Checkout is a breeze. Another negative: Guests "saving" pool chairs at 8:00 am and never appearing to use the pool until 3 or 4 hours later. Security was great this year and kept track of saved, unused chairs, removing items from them so others could truly use them. All in all, a beautiful hotel! Best on the beach!

If you want to be on the beach, and still have all the amenities of a fine hotel...look no further - Wyndham is it. All rooms are well equipped with everything that you need, and some of what you didn't even consider. Perfectly located on the strip with plenty to do or if you prefer, there are some quiet hideaway spots. Had one complaint about lights not working and wrong remote for TV, and within a matter of minutes someone was there checking it out. Approximately 15 minutes later - everything was working fine - bulbs replaced and correct remote. Had a great time - looking forward to going back.

Room Tip: Make sure you get a room closer to the top floors facing the outdoor pools & beach - incredible...

Nice Family Friendly hotel, Bar by pool area was way too busy long wait, and not enough parking. If you don't get there early in the evening, you have to park across the street which is a very long walk with groceries. Easy access to beach and next door ocean Walk Shoppes. Overall, the kiddie pool, lazy river and beach were great!!!

The location next to boardwalk was great. The heated pools and lazy river was awesome and the grandkids loved it all. The grounds and buildings were all very clean. We especially liked the resort security level. One area of concern was the dead bolt on our door did not work. It was evident someone had tried to force the door and a repair had been made to relocate the dead bolt plate on the door jamb. If kept wiggling the dead bolt lever it would eventually turn. Repairs had been made to several walls that stood out because walls were satin finish and flat paint was used to touch up. For such a nice resort they have second rate repairmen performing maintenance. Non the less the room was nice and the view of the ocean and pools was great. We will go back there again.
