Only beach that one can drive on. If you go to the beach after 4pm it is free. Easy place to rent beach chairs and umbrella for $20 bucks.

“Jellyfish everywhere!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 19, 2012

We went to the beach in July 2011, never went in the water. It was cool that you could drive on the beach for $5 but I would never take my car! We went walking on the beach our first full day and could not step on any spot that wasn't covered in jellyfish! They were bad that year. Other than that it was cool. We watched ice cream trucks, food trucks, 4wheeler/golf cart rentals, etc drive up and down the beach from the pool. I hope when we go back there aren't any jellyfish so we can hang out on the beach!

“Incredible beach”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 17, 2012

Beautiful beach. This is a sportsmans dream. It's huge when the tides out and usually wide enough at high tide to bike, run or walk. You have to see it to understand what makes it unique. The majority is hard packed sand easy to walk on, although there is soft sand as well. I've seen kids playing full soccer games on this beach. Because its so huge you never feel cramped or on top of anyone (unless that was the goal : ) Lots of great things to do if your in what the locals call the core area. This is by the Pier. I"m big on the Oasis Tiki Bar & Grill right on the beach south of the pier. There are other stops but, this ones my favorite for lunch / drinks. Plenty of water sports activities. Board rentals along with chair rentals all right there. Really makes for an easy day not lugging stuff on the beach. Although you can drive your car on this beach with all your stuff I prefer to pick my Hotel and park. Lots less stress on foot, and this is a great beach to hoof it.

“Not one of Florida's nicer beaches”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 16, 2012

The beach has quite a bit of trash on it (more trash than shells). The buildings are so close to the water that the beach disappears at high tide. This place is a tourist trap and nothing else. The only nice part is if you go down to Ponce Inlet. I would choose New Smyrna over Daytona any day.

“Great Beach!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 16, 2012

Every year we travel to Florida's famous Daytona Beach. We love to drive the beach (not many places that you can do this) and if you like shelling and sunning this is the place to go. After a storm, you'll find many different types of shells. Recommend highly!
