The chocolate covered bacon was different. But loved the chocolate covered potato chips. It was cool to see how they make it. Really enjoyed the tour.

We visited Angell & Phelps when we were leaving the Daytona Beach portion of our Florida trip. We looked around the shop for a little bit, than gathered in the back, where a tour was starting. What you did was start at the end of the hallway, working your way back towards the main part of the store, and stop at each window while the tour guide explained a little bit about where chocolate comes from, and what the staff in the factory was doing. It was so cool to look in at the different kind of machines and learn what they were for. The tour was short and sweet and actually very interesting, I learned a bunch about chocolate that I didn't know before. At the end of the tour there were a bunch of different samples, which they were very generous with. I recommend the milk chocolate covered potato chips! Overall it was a nice (and delicious) little stop.

We always take visitors from out of town to see the free tour of Angell & Phelps Chocolate Factory. It is maybe 15 minutes long, standing (but little walking). You can see them making chocolate, and at the end of the tour you will get free samples. Then you can browse the store and purchase more if you want. Next door they have a restaurant if you want to stop for lunch or dinner. The tours are scheduled several times each day. They make all their chocolate on the premises. They even have odd things like chocolate covered potato chips.

Definitely worth the trip. They have a very informative free tour and a lot of information about the candy making process. They give you two free samples at the end of the tour. That alone is worth it. We ended up spending a nice amount afterward for chocolate. They have some coupons around town for a discount on purchases over $25.00. I didn't think we would come close, but we did. The people are great! The chocolate is great too!

The chocolate at Angell and Phelps is my favorite. It tastes so much better than other gourmet brands. It's fun to see how they make it during the short tour, but the store is small so guests are crowded in front of windows to watch the staff making whatever variety of chocolate they are making that day. If there are more than 10 people, many can't see what's going on.The chocolate enrober, where candies pass through a curtain of melted chocolate, is fun to watch. They were making chocolate covered cherries and it was fascinating to learn how they get the cherry to dissolve inside the candy by the time you eat it. Dark chocolate maple creams are yummy. White chocolate covered pretzels are also very good. I send chocolate covered potato chips to my daughters every Christmas; it's one of their guilty pleasures. This is a nice local company, with an interesting history, that makes delicious chocolates.
