Original plan visit Siesta Keys Beach for 8 days, with our family of 4 children. The home we rented & paid for turned out to be disgusting, as well as the beach~ definetly NOT as Described! We left that area as soon as we could. We were at the mercy of availability and rates. Long story, short- Eventually, we came to this Holiday Inn on the Daytona Beach. Although, we never intended to end up in Daytona & not all 6 of us in a hotel room! We were greeted by Nicole, who showed us the beautiful hotel & all it had to offer. We stayed 4 days, cramped into one suite, only because it was a newly remodeled hotel, wonderful pool, hot tub & camp fire, along with the views of the beach~what more could you ask for? I spoke in great length to Becky one evening. Staff made us feel very safe & comfortable, (well as comfortable as we could be).
Point is...Although this vacation didn't go as planned, we made the best of the situation & felt welcomed by the staff. Thank you, I truly appreciated that.
Only thing that would have made this better, would have been a better rate:)

Thank you so much for taking the time to submit a review for your stay. It is always disappointing when you're expecting the perfect vacation and things don't go as planned. In spite of your unpleasant prior experience we are pleased that we could be a part of making your vacation everything that you expected it to be. Our resort is very safe and secured so I'm glad that you had that peace of mind as well. Thanks again and we hope to see you back soon.

The experience here was GREAT! Everyone was WONDERFUL! The service was EXCELLENT!. The room was perfect for my family and I. The oceanfront view from the room was AMAZING! The sunrise in the mornings were BEAUTIFUL! At night the pool lit up like a light show. The firepits by the pool had a romantic touch. The hotel has a restaurant on site, H2O Bar and Grill. Special thanks to Jose our server. He was EXCELLENT! Also want to give special thanks to the Activity Director Sheena SUPERB JOB with the arts and crafts, face painting and DJing on Sundays.

The reservation process: I reserved 2 ocean front rooms for 2 nights (Thursday-Saturday). I prepaid for the entire stay via the Holiday Inn website. For some reason, upon check-in, an additional $390 was also charged to my card. After many confusing explanations, we realized it was a pending transaction and was not going to go through as an actual charge. It took 4 days to “fall off” my credit card. I still can’t explain why after I prepaid for the entire stay that another $390 was pending. Whatever. That was a bit stressful but we trusted them and luckily it came off.

The area: I live in Orlando and go to the beaches for little weekend trips. Cocoa Beach is our regular spot but this time we thought we’d check out Daytona for a change. Wow, has this city gone to pot. We hadn’t been here in 10 years and hadn’t expected what we saw. It’s just such an old, run down looking city now: lots of abandoned buildings and strip clubs. The best word to describe the area is seedy. When you drive a little further down towards Ormond, it does get better though.

The location: The hotel is easy to find and right on the beach. I totally forgot that cars are allowed to drive on this part of the beach though: not so good with a toddler running around.

The hotel: This is certainly an older hotel but has many renovations. The halls are outdoors and narrow. The elevators are super hot.

The amenities: The pool and kid splash area are large and nice. The kid’s arcade room was small and many children could not reach the games. Ice machines were on every other floor.

The rooms: The ocean view was awesome! Updated inside- nice TV, bathroom and beds. Our tub didn’t have a drain plug. Had to call 3 times to have one brought to us so we could run a bath for our children. The fridge was terrible. It didn’t work to cool my kid’s milk. Had to have it replaced. 3rd one worked great.

The beach: Other than the cars driving on the beach thing, we liked the beach a lot. Nice, clean sand. We rented 2 chairs and an umbrella from a vendor.

The restaurant/bar: We had breakfast here one morning. We were not impressed: tough pancakes, dry eggs and potatoes. The “complimentary drinks” from the bar was lower than well and tasted like battery acid.

Parking: It was okay. We had to park upstairs mostly but was always able to get a space.

Overall, my kids loved the beach and pool and that’s what matters. Would I stay here again? No, it wasn’t a convenient experience and I didn’t love the area.

(When we returned to Orlando, the newspaper and news stated that 2 men were arrested at this hotel (most likely during out stay) for trying to break into rooms by pretending to deliver pizza fliers. Something to be aware of.)

We came in late on a Monday and was originally booked at another hotel. It was awful so we cruised down Atlantic trying to find another place to stay. We found this Holiday Inn, went in at about 1:00 in the morning and they gave us a great rate for the week. This place is wonderful. The staff is friendly, my husband and I especially liked Jose who works in the restaurant. We'd get up early while our teenage children were still sleeping, have our breakfast and socialize with Jose. Our view was amazing! The balconies are a good size and the beds are comfortable. We will be back!

We are just completing a week stay at the Holiday Inn Daytona Beach Oceanfront. It is reasonable, clean, comfortable and the beach is amazing. The front desk attendants are quick and efficient. Sheena the activity director made activities fun and enjoyable. The kids loved her. Fun in the sun !!
