We expected to be better but it was not. Little bit higher priced than other places but not as good. We always try a simple spicy tuna roll first but it wasn't that good. Not enough tuna either.

We were in Daytona for a wedding and searched Trip Advisor for a good sushi place and came up with Ronin and decided to give it a try. Loved the ambiance of the place and sat at the sushi bar. My husband was really enthralled with watching them prepare all the entrees. Ours, of course, was excellent. If we're ever back in Daytona, we're surely stopping in Ronin for sushi.

We were sent to Ronin by some locals we had met while on our honeymoon. My husband does not like sushi but still loved the Kobe roll, seaweed salad, and of course the sake. We went at a slower time of day so there was not much of a wait. We sat at the sushi bar, the chef made it a point to describe things to us and show us everything he made, even when it was not for us. Wait staff was friendly. Happy hour will get you 2 sake for 1. We were very satisfied.

We had tried Ronin last year and found it to be better than average. This trip there were two issues, the service and the food. Our sever was young and either very new to the job or just not very professional. The upshot is someone asked her ( within our hearing) if she was serving. Her answer was " she was serving the old couple over there". Not something I want to hear from a 20 something who didn't know the menu or the woe list.
Then the food. Dumpling appetizer was fine, seared tuna was ok, too much heat it masked the tuna flavor. Sashimi and roll served on the same plate, not what I would expect. Two meals, same plate? Sashimi was ok, tuna good but other pieces smelled fishy not fresh. No pieces were cut uniform which is something a real sashimi chef would execute. Bottom line, poor service and average food. We won't visit again.
