“Standard Hilton Experience”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

All in all a good experience. Stayed for a week while in town. Ate breakfast there every day and was very pleased. Made to order eggs/omletes. I had an ocean side room which had a great view as well. The rooms are getting tired and need some updating...a little paint and it would be up to speed. Getting a taxi one evening took longer than expected, but they mentioned that you should call in advance in Daytona...lesson learned.

The hotel has seen better days, it's not bad, but it's dated -- the lobby is nice enough, as is the bar area, the sports bar and the Doc Bales Grill [which has terrific and hearty salads]! But, it's the rooms that have seen better days; cracked tiles on our bathroom floor, mystery stain in the bathtub, dusty or soiled headboard on the bed, dirty balcony windows -- plus, there was a used toothbrush left underneath the desk in our room -- sort of gross. But, I left the maid a note and she promptly took care of it on the next cleaning.

On the plus side, nice gym, nice pools, shuffleboard and other game area; clean and fun. Staff is very friendly and kind. I rented a beach cruiser bicycle from the gift shop one day and had a blast riding down to the Ponce Inlet way [the sales person in the gift shop told me the bikes were just serviced, and yes, it did ride well for the most part (chain fell off twice, but I managed to get it back on remembering my days with 2 sprocket bicycle as a kid in the 70's). But, most of all, enjoy Daytona -- the beach is gorgeous, one of the cleanest that I've seen anywhere and goes for miles. Walk, ride, run -- the sand is hard packed and firm, so, it lends itself to many activities that you will not find on other beaches.

Room Tip: Rooms that face the ocean are nice. Other couples particularly said they did not care for rooms tha...

This is a great place to stay. There were so many restaurants, shops, and great things to do, INSIDE the hotel. Its directly attached to the City Walk, lots of shopping, great restaurants. The view from our room was oceanfront, with a view of the amusement park directly south. This may have turned off other travellers, but having two 11 year olds in tow, it was so much fun to watch the "human slingshot" and beautiful ferris wheel ( with an amazing light show) directly from the balcony. Lisa our houskeeper was so kind, and professional. She was so accomodating and had a bright smile, asking us about our stay. Hanna LaLande was so kind and helpful in the kids play area, she showed the kids all the cool stuff to play with and showed them how to beat a level on a video game! great lady, what a compliment to your company.

Downside, small one, we could have done without the aggressive valet service. As a self parker, we were clearly not welcome long for check in. Also, 10 bellman staring at the front door waiting for arrivals, wearing headsets, can be a bit much.

Room Tip: south tower was beautiful view. don' t think there is a bad room in the house.

It is just wonderful to read how much you and your children enjoyed the sights and sounds of The World’s Most Famous Beach during your recent stay at the Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort. We are delighted to read that our location, connected to the Ocean Walk Village and steps from great attractions like the Daytona Lagoon, provided endless fun. We love that you spent time in our D-Dawg’s Kidszone and appreciate your kind mention of our associates that made your stay an enjoyable one. We do apologize, however, if you felt rushed at any point when you first arrived to check-in. Thank you for sharing your feedback, we hope to see you again in the near future.

My husband and I spent two nights at this hotel. When we checked in at the front desk, the concierge asked was it only us and we said "yes" and we were given our keys. When we arrived at our room, there were double beds. I called the front desk and asked for a single bed room and was told for $40 more a night we can stay in one. I was appauled! The concierge told us that since our rooms were booked through Priceline we were not entitled to a single bed. This incident truly ruined a weekend get away with my husband - I felt like the Flintstones or perhaps Ricky and Lucy from "I Love Lucy."

We appreciate that you chose to stay with us during your two-night getaway to Daytona, however, we deeply regret any confusion regarding your accommodations. Guests, regardless of how they book their stay, specify a preferred room type when booking that is based on availability at check-in. We regret that we were unable to fulfill your request for a room with one bed without upgrading to the next room level as it most certainly was not our intention to do anything that would detract from your stay. Thank you for sharing your story with us. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us directly should you wish to further discuss your stay.

On the plus side, the staff was very friendly and accommodating, especially the valet parking folks, and the room was very clean. On the minus side, considering the room was almost $200, there was no balcony (although the sliding glass doors did open), the room was very small, there was no fridge, no microwave (because there are restaurants downstairs and there is room service so you can spend more money), and if you do want to park your own car, it's still $12.00 and it's across the street and down the block. Also, it costs $10 to log on to the Internet. Wow.... I have stayed at other hotels within a couple of miles of this Hilton for about half, parked my own car (which is my preference), had free Internet, a fridge, a microwave, and a balcony right on the ocean that is a true balcony where I could sit on a chair with a cup of coffee and watch the water.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the ferris wheel - - - or you'll have flashing lights and screaming if...

My husband and I spent one night in this hotel. We kept the window open all night and could hear the ocean. My husband went to the beach for sunrise.
The room was clean and spacious. The service was excellent. The beds were a little too soft for my taste, but otherwise an excellent stay.

Decent hotel but not for the price. Way to expensive for this hotel and their valet parking is $19.00 per night and self parking was $12. Absolutely ridiculous

Make sure you put on your do not disturb sigh or housekeeping will be beating on your door early. Although you can hear them down the hall beating on other doors.

Room Tip: Make sure you put on your do not disturb sigh or housekeeping will be beating on your door early. A...

While we’re glad you found our hotel pleasant we do regret if our parking fees caused you any issue, our website is a great resource for this type of information as it offers a comprehensive look at our resort. Located on the sand-packed beaches of Daytona, our resort is in a no-traffic area where parking is at a premium. To accommodate our guests we offer both parking options at rates comparable to others throughout the area. A number of our packages include amenities such as parking, so we invite you to check our special rates before booking. Thank you for your review, we hope you’ll return for a future stay with us.
