Excellent resort. Massive condos, like a bungalow rather than apartment. Very clean with loads of equipment in kitchen, including washing machine and tumble-dryer and numerous towels of all sizes. Walmart only 5-10 mins away. Lovely man made beach area and clean pools. Need a car but only 25 mins from Disney and 40 mins from Universal. Excellent value for money.

Only downside was aircon generators for whole block outside second bedroom window. Very noisy and our boys found it difficult to get to sleep. Probably just unlucky with location of our apartment.

Also landed with a £50 cleaning fee to pay on arrival. This in fact was not for cleaning whilst there but for cleaning apartment after we have left for the next visitors. If needs to be paid then should be in with initial price as no choice but to pay it.

Room Tip: With noisy generators, a first or second floor may have been better

An excellent resort with large clean and well maintained suites and the swimming pools particularly the one at the club house are great. The resort is located one a beautiful property and is close driving distance to the major Disney theme parks without being to close. We spent 8 days there and the whole family loved it our only regret is that our stay was so short.

The pros: Cheaper than other resorts. The cons: where do I begin. The rooms are filthy, unless that is what you expect from a resort! Hair in the microwave; the bed linen and refrigerator! Carpets smelled and were stained with mold in the showers. After complaining, we were moved to an "upgraded room" which had better carpet but the sofa was stained with used paper towels underneath! The patio..... big enough for 2 people and no more! The internet never connected and when we called the front desk to inquire, they told "US" to call the cable company and complain.....really??? Needless to say, we were supposed to spend 3 nights and we left after 23 hours. The $65 cleaning fee that they charge should be given back because they have no clue what clean is!!! You certainly get what you pay for here!

If you are traveling with a family or a couple that will be staying in Disney area for more than 4 days but don't want to eat at restaurants three times a day - Bahama Bay can't be beat for value. Those that love nature and want to be away from all the frantic Disney traffic but still want to be within 5 minutes to hundreds of restaurants this is definitely where you want to stay. We stayed in a deluxe 2 BR Andros (nearly 1400 sq ft) unit on the ground floor. It is worth upgrading to this unit as you will get more space and upgraded furniture and kitchen appliances. WIFI is free with your stay and the fully stocked kitchen had all the appliances required to allow you to cook your own means. The dishwasher made cleanup a breeze. The master bedroom itself was larger than most hotel rooms and had a king size bed.

Since the resort is currently upgrading their units with new carpets, mattresses flat screen TVs and furniture, I strongly suggest requesting an upgraded room as you will be guaranteed to get an awesome room without any extra cost.

The resort has four pools (two main and two smaller ones) and 6 hot tubs; if you like it quieter and less busy, I suggest using the main pool by the clubhouse or one of the smaller pools. If you like more action, liquor service, beach volleyball or fishing, I suggest the pool down by the lake. It has a man made white sand beach. Fishing by the lake is free on the resort (supply your own rods and tackle) and it does not require a license. You might even spot the odd alligator swimming by. The resort also has a nice nature trail and several ponds in which you will see many different types of birds, insects and reptiles.

There is a small store onsite and two restaurants. Karaoke night was fun for the whole family. The resort has an on site spa along with a very good fitness center and tennis court (rackets are supplied). DVD rentals are free with your stay which we used several times to unwind with the family after a long day.

If you want to watch the Disney Fireworks at 9pm and 10pm, building 6 has the best viewing. Overall we had a very relaxing stay and was it was the perfect place to stay if you need a relaxing place to stay between outings to Disney.

Room Tip: Choose an upgraded Deluxe 2 BR Andros - they are located on the bottom floor (no elevators)

Fifth time we have stayed here. Have been in various blocks and various floors. This time we had a 2 bedroomed apartment that was for guests with disabilities. The shower was huge, so you could get a wheelchair in, loos had handles to assist. Not disabled ourselves, but glad to see this. Yes you pay a $200 deposit, but you always get it back. You do have to purchase dishwasher soap and I always take laundry tablets, but I love the fact that it's self catering. As usual, everything was great, yes the decor and furnishings are standard in every apartment, but I like that.... feels like home from home, and we will be back!!!

Room Tip: All rooms are fab!
