Great hotel, great staff. Loved the pools. If you're into golf looks like there's plenty to do. Shop for a deal (we did!)

We stayed at the Omni Championsgate for 5 nights while we took our small children to Disney World. This review is regarding the last day of our stay - the Saturday before Thanksgiving.

Apparently every year on this date the hotel hosts the "Margarita Ball". It sounds great but the reality is that the hotel is over run by 3,000 crazed, drunken, partiers. What should have been contained to the lobby and meeting room level ended up being massive parties on the guest floors, guest rooms, hallways, elevators, etc. Broken beer bottles in the elevators, people screaming through the hallway.

****And the worst***** POT (Marijuana) smoking in the hallway and guest rooms.

We called the front desk to send security several times and the situation never improved. We ended up calling the police and they never came.

The hotel ended up moving us to a different set of rooms on a higher floor where the partying was less and they refunded us for the night.

I highly recommend not staying at this hotel during this event - we feared for the safety of our family as the guests were extraordinarily drunk and belligerent.

I went here for a conference in October of 2010. I was very happy with everything at the hotel. A perfect place to mix business and pleasure (if you're a golfer). The only downside would be that it's a bit removed from other attractions in Orlando, so a rental car is necessary.

After the half hour ride on the Meers Transportation from Orlando International Airport, we finally arrived at the Omni Championsgate Hotel. Beautiful beige and white marble floors and a wall of windows is what you see first. Once you get a chance to look out those windows you will see landscaping at its best. The view of the pool will make you want to take your camera out. After you take that picture you are ready to admire the beautiful golf course. The room we had was very nice and the bathroom is a great size. We never felt crowded in this room and it was only a Premier room. The next day we reserved a Cabanna ($117). Inside was a television with free HBO, plenty of large white towels, two comfortable padded lounge chairs and a ceiling fan and light. When reserving a cabbana it comes with 2 virgin smoothies and a large container of fresh fruit. We felt very spoiled. The cabbana is located at the "adult only" pool which was wonderful not to hear the children yelling back and forth to their parents. On the other side was a pool for them that had a lazy river and shooting water cannon and waterfalls. There really is no reason for them to come to the "other" pool, they were having too much fun that "their" pool. The first night we ate at Dave's grill. We were not impressed with the food there. It might be good for appetizers and watching a game on the ten televsions but don't bother ordering an entree. The next night we ate at Zen Restaurant. Wow! For $51 you can experience the "all you can eat as many different items that they serve. Now $51 may seem like a lot but my husband had 9 plates of food.(of course, they were sample size, but he felt like it was worth it to try items he has never tried before. I ordered a regular entree of General Tso Chicken and the plate was huge. I would recommend this restaurant highly. For breakfast we ate at Trevi's. It offers a breakfast buffet or if you prefer just a plate of your choice. They also provided an Omlet station if you order the buffet. The employees were very nice always saying hello and making you feel glad you stayed there. One down side: With the $16 resort fee that is included each day in your hotel cost the parking should be included in your price. That is a lot of money for parking each day at a hotel that you are staying at that is not a parking deck.

Thank you for pointing out all of the great features you enjoyed in your private cabana. They really are meant to spoil you and make you appreciate a relaxing day at the resort. We are delighted that you enjoyed your dining experiences in ZEN and Trevis. We would like to know more about your experience in David's Club if you would be willing to contact the resort manager. We enjoyed having you as a guest and hope you will return. Best regards!

Stayed here for 6 days. Got a great rate through Priceline, but were treated like a regular guest.
Check in was great, and Lindsay was very friendly and helpful. Gave the kids goodie backpacks, and cookies & milk the first night. Nice touch.Lobby is very impressive, valet put bags on cart, then handed off to porter.Had a pool view room.
The rooms, while comfortable, do not match the rest of the resort.Beds were small, not Queens.Giant cabinet, with large tube TV? Even the cheap Hampton Inn we stayed at on the way down had a flat screen TV. Large bathroom, safe in closet. Members of the Omni program, so we got coffee and juice delivered every morning. Housekeeping were very good when needed.
2 golf courses, basketball, tennis, volyball courts, water slide, lazy river. This warrants the Resort fee, which is a pretty good deal. Also includes wireless service. Strangely, there is a fee for using the computer in the business center. It was more expensive there than at a computer place at Universal. How is wireless included , but not the business center? Grounds were beautiful, and well kept. The resort was not very busy, so there was no problem getting chairs or tubes. I can see this being a problem during a busy time.
Lazy river was very lazy, not much current. Ate poolside, very good and reasonable. Think it was $7 for a burger. The young crew who ran the kids activities were hit or miss. Some really went out of their way to be friendly, others seemed to hate their job. Did't use the kids club, but it looked very nice. Game room was small, but fun.
The gym was great. Tons of machines, and free weights. Most nights at 10pm, I was the only one there. Didn't eat at any of the restuarants, but they seemed real expensive.
There is a Publix supermarket, McDonalds, Subway, and Chillis within walking distance.
Didn't eat there, but the supermarket was great.
About 10-15 min. to Disney, 20-25 to Universal. It was nice to come back from the parks, and be away from everything. Wish the pool was open a little later than 10pm.
Now for the parking. There is absolutly no reason for there to be a $14 pls tax charge for parking. It's not like this property is close to the parks, and people would park here to take a shuttle. There is no other option, but to park on property. $5 would be reasonable, but $14 is just a big FU.
Upon check out, was billed for the rooms, even they were pre-paid through Priceline. Also charged $12 for 2 bottles of water that we moved to the closet. This was taken care of with no problem. I spoke with a few different desk clerks during the stay for various reasons, and they were all very courteous and helpful.
The front door staff were friendly, as were the night housekeeping crew. The day housekeeping crew, not as friendly. I guess they wanted to be tipped every day, instead of the end of the trip? Anyway, this did not interefere with the job they did cleaning the room.
Overall, this is a beautiful place to stay, close enough to the parks, yet far enough away.
The grounds and view were beautiful, staff efficient and friendly.
The only problem is the TV ( I know management said they are being replaced, but flat screens were around when this was built), small beds, and the parking, which there is no reasonable explanation for.

Upscale hotel with nice pool area. Golf course right there. It is expensive. Charge a 16 resort fee on top of room price. Also 14 for self park. Much to far from the Disney stuff and even farther from Universal. If your not doing any parks it's fine. You must have a car if you want to leave the hotel.

We stayed at the Omni Championsgate for 4 nights, part of the time to attend a conference and the rest for pleasure. The hotel room was spacious, immaculate, and perfectly serviced each day. The public spaces were beautiful and spotless. And there were 3 pools: one reserved for adults, another heated, salt water pool for families, and a long, winding, fresh water current pool, complete with inner tubes. It was a very pleasant place to stay.
