“Super hotel - away from the crowds.”
Reviewed May 3, 2006

We have just returned from a 3 week vacation in the USA and stayed at this hotel for a few days before flying home to the UK. The Omni was simply wonderful. Rooms were extremely comfortable with plenty of amenities. Service was exemplary and we found the staff very pleasant and obliging - nothing was too much trouble. We booked accommodation only but were given vouchers for continental breakfast however you could pay an extra 5 dollars and take the hot buffet breakfast which was excellent and very good value.

The pools were great and although we spent most of our time at the quiet pool, we also used the lazy river which was very relaxing. Our only teeny gripe was that we were expecting the quiet pool to be adults only. This was not the case as children were allowed to use the pool so on occasions it was not so quiet.

The hotel is situated in a great location away from the hustle and bustle of Orlando but still within a short driving distance however as there is a huge amount of construction on the road into Orlando, you may well get caught up in traffic jams. May be better to just chill out at the Omni....

Spent three "last minute nights" at the Omni after the Hilton in WDW refused to move my family from a room that reaked of smoke. Was upgraded at no charge to a premium room by asking for it when I checked in. Excellent service at Trevi's every morning for Breakfast. My wife mentioned her entree was a little spicy one night for dinner and Trevi's comped the entire meal including drinks! Well beyond my expectations. Pool area is wonderful for kids, website does not do it justice. Only downfall is it's a long 5 miles from anything else. Five miles doesn't sound far but after a day at the parks the last thing you want to do is drive back up I-4 if you want to go out.

We stayed at the Omni for four nights in March with our two daughters 4 & 8. We got two adjoining rooms which were very nice, new, roomy and extremely clean.

The resort is beautiful in particular the pool area. The lazy river is great! The quiet pool is lovely. You can imagine beeing in Hawaii not Orlando. The pool hut employees were helpful and friendly.

My husband and daughter used the pitch and putt golf course. We took the kids to the Omni kids club one night while we had dinner. The kids club room is nice but the program is just babysitting - no activities really except videos.

The food is quite good and reasonable for a resort. We ate at the pool grill every day for lunch. Great salads, burgers etc. Service was ususally friendly but slow.

We had some problems with the service at the other restaurants. We made a reservation at Zen the panasian restaurant. When we were leaving the room however to go to dinner we noticed a message on the phone. Zen had called to "cancel" our 7:00 reservation. We then called and spoke to the hostess at Zen who reluctantly agreed that we could then come at 7:15. When we arrived at Zen - the restaurant was almost empty and filled to about 1/2 capacity during the time we were there. Go figure why they would cancel our reservation. The food was pretty good - had the Zen experience with samples of many of the menu items.

Similarly had a problem at Trevi the Italian restaurant. My husband charged the meal to the room, only to the have the server call our room later to demand payment as she said that we were "cash guests" at the hotel. After several calls, I was able to sort out that it was a computer problem - they had lost our credit card number. However, maybe the hotel could have investigated this before implying that we were running out without paying. (anyway, can anyone check into a hotel without a credit card?)

Our room service orders were lost a couple of times with no explanation and the front desk was pretty frosty. I guess the place was so nice that we expected great service.

All in all though, the hotel was nice enough to overlook the service problems. I think we will be back but will manage our own expectations about the service (we didn't pay Ritz prices after all).

Just returned from a five night stay for a family vacation (my wife, 14 year old daughter and 12 year old son). Very clean and well kept, plenty to do onsight, food is great along with enough variety. Food onsight is not inexpensive, but not abnormal for a resort...the waiters and waitresses were very, very nice. Well worth the price.

Concierge was also cordial and helpful. Maids were super. Only beef would be the bellmen...were not to be seen, or simply not up to standard.

Would certainly recommend this place for a family vacation.

We spent our last night in Florida here before returning to England. We found this a very luxurious resort which was very good value. Fabulous pool and lazy river, though it was too chilly to use when we were there. The grounds were immaculate.
Our room was very spacious with a view of golf course (recommend requesting this side of the hotel) a large bathroom and comfy bed. Everything was very clean and staff were very polite.
Less crowded and a more laid back feel to it than the Orlando (theme park) hotels and would make a great base for exploring the area.

I stayed at the Omni Championsgate in Orlando for four nights while attending a conference. While I didn't get to enjoy all that the hotel had to offer, I can attest to how well appointed this place is. The pools are fantastic and the golf course looks very nice. While I was there it was very quiet - few people used the pools and float river - probably because most of the people staying at the hotel were there for a conference. Nevertheless, the quietness was appreciated. The rooms are nice and good sized with a convenient thermostat to control the room temperature,

There is executive course right next to the resort and the championship course is next to the executive. I ate at two of the restaurants. The bar/restaurant (can't remember the name) was very good. The Italian restaurant had good ambience and the food was good, but not great.

A few of small criticisms. The location seems strange, like they bought some swamp land, filled it in and built a golf course and resort. It is bit of a drive to get to most attractions. Also, I was surprised that I could hear a lot of noise through the doors in the hallway (people talking, doors slamming). Also, the hotel is very wide (rectangular) and the elevators are located at one end of the hotel (instead of in the middle) so to get from your room to the elevator could be a long walk.

All that said I would love to stay at this hotel again. I can't speak to its value since over $300 (including taxes) a night seemed expensive to me but may not be for a nice Orlando resort.

This hotel would have recieved an Excellent review except for two major issues. I recieved a call Monday morning stating, "we have you scheduled for a room change". Evidentily my toilet was broken and leaking next door and I was not made aware of the situation. I was placed in a downgraded room. My co-worker also had a room change b/c the hotel was overbooked.

Otherwise, the hotel was very nice and a good buy for the money. They have nice conference facilities, although I thought the golf course was a little overpriced.
